That was a great win by Morikawa. He’s had a good season already, now it’s fantastic!

Super set up of the course with so many different styles of golfers in with a chance until the end.

This is definitely one of the most exciting majors I’ve ever watched. Congratulations Collin Morikawa!!

He blew the lid right off the Wanamaker trophy!

I just knew someone would mention this! The drive on 16 isn’t the only thing we’ll remember! 😂

You have to go 11 guys down the leaderboard to find someone who didn’t shoot under par. That’s what makes a Major exciting. When you get everyone’s best game (like in the movie The Color of Money - “I want your best game!”) and they’re duking it out. Runaways, except for Tiger, are boring.

And Wolff was sooo close. Two lip outs?

What is the general consensus on Harding hosting this major? Will it be back again for another Major?

I thought it was a good course.Could see another major going there. It also looked like the average guy could enjoy playing there without the thick rough.

What are the odds BDC is pisses and at the gym right now pumping iron trying to get bigger and so he can hit it longer at the USO next month thinking it will lead to a win.

Why?  Did you pee your pants?  I know it's exciting...

It was exciting!  No, I played golf today so I was still in my golf clothes, I wanted to put on my gym clothes so I could do weights while watching (weights finally came in the mail a week ago).

I did successfully change and then fell asleep on the couch.  I made the post you referenced, then slept for about 30 minutes and woke up to see Morikawa's drive on 16.   So I was a little confused about what was happening scoreboard wise.

Great win for Morikawa.

He won Workday and should have won the Charles Schwab but missed a 4 foot birdie putt on the 18th in regulation.

Morikawa is going to get a lot of endorsement deals too. He seems to have a great personality, really nice smile and is a steady player on the course. Let’s see how he handles expectations now.

"I mean, sort of hard to knock a guy who's got 21 wins on the PGA Tour, which is three times what Brooks has.''

Rory on hearing Brooks’ ignorant comment on DJ only having one major while disrespecting the others at the top.

Absolutely enjoyed watching Bam Bam flop.

Don't get that. Anyone winning by miles makes for boring viewing. Why does Tiger automatically make it better? Hint: it doesn't.

It does for me. Watching the GOAT become the GOAT is history in the making. Watching Mike Campbell win by 3 isn’t.

I dunno.

What are the odds you’ll realize the dude has been playing incredibly good golf so far this year, has won a tournament, and just finished T4 during the PGA?

And then maybe make the mental leap and realize that the added length probably has a good deal to do with that.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
