Look… if there are 18 skins in either net or gross skins, I'll add the extra $ to make the payouts an even $5. 🙂

There won't be 18 skins. Even with only 16 people playing currently, I highly doubt we'll see more than five or six skins per game.

I know I get it. I didn't mean to confuse things. I thought I was making it easier, but I was just confusing things.

Appreciate the invite but I’m in Michigan for a work deal 19th-31st and wife has a family reunion on the first. No way I could get back and go play golf the next day! Wife would murder me!

I will be surprised if more than 7-8 payouts for either skins pots.

That’d be a bunch.

Planning on staying in the Erie area, not sure where anyone else is staying. Few Marriott Brand hotels there...gotta use them free points lol

There's a hotel by Behrend that @billchao stayed at, too.

I have a reservation for 16 of us at Andriaccio's in Chautauqua on Saturday, August 1 at 6pm.

Ideally we'll eat outside.

They have a nice covered patio, and a pretty good menu for a mostly Italian style place.

That was the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites in Harborcreek. Nice place with modern rooms. It’s away from downtown so it’s quiet at night (besides other hotel guests), but still only about 20 minutes from WW, and it’s slightly closer to Chautauqua.

My driver has been on point of late but I've forgotten how to hit and iron and wedge.

I wish I had anything which could be described as "on point". My whole game has been on hold pretty much since last season. Not at all how I expected 2020 to go.

Anyhow, I am stoked because I have a lesson scheduled with my coach today. We have a lot of work to do.

I had a lesson day before yesterday. Wow, it was a good one. I have another scheduled for next week. I'm hoping to be at least not embarrassing by time Saturday/Sunday arrives.

I do have a couple of questions.

Any chance of walking the course on Sunday? Or is it not that kind of course?

If not, should I bring my ClicGear 3.5+ anyway for Saturday. Currently I'm moved into a ginormous Sun Mountain C130 and I don't want to have to lug it around. Or would it be smarter just to chuck my stuff into a stand bag for the weekend?

Can you update us Ohio folks on the mask rules out there in PA? I will be bringing 1 or 2 but I do want to make sure I'm complying with what ever rules the locals have.

I would not walk it, lol. Though, it is possible to walk.

I am thinking about just getting a room at the Motel 6 in Erie, right off I-90. I am wondering if the room will be better off since they are not contained with in a hotel building.

I'll take your advice.

What about at the Chautauqua Golf Club/Learning Center? Will I want my push cart for that?

No clue, never been to that facility. I've played the course before.

I think I remember @iacas saying that there are a few 150 yard practice holes, so it might come in handy.

Can you add my wife to the dinner tally? Also, what tees will we be playing on Sunday?

There is another location of the Cobblestone Hotel along the Bayfront Parkway about a mile west of downtown Erie, about 12 minutes from Whispering Woods, but farther from Chautauqua.

Whispering Woods is quite hilly, and there are several instances where the distance from a green to the next tee is very long. For that reason, all greens fees include the cart, and walking is discouraged as it affects pace of play.

I could explain the mask rules, but they will likely change twice more before the event.

    • How does he fit for clubs with that setup?  I get this to an extent, but plenty of players have slightly different patterns with different clubs throughout their bag, but using that logic why not start with 3 foot putts or 5yd chip shots? I have quite different feels for a 20-40yd pitch shot than I do for a 140yd shot. Loft presentation at setup and impact, ground contact, weight transfer (or lackthereof), etc are all different on a 20-40yd shot vs a full iron shot.  If you enjoyed the lesson and found value in it that's great, personally I'd be a bit annoyed if I went in and wanted to work on full swing stuff and this guy has me doing 20-40yd pitch shots for an hour with my lob wedge.
