Annoying Playing Partner Talks to My Ball

We have a one player in our golfing group that talks to nearly every ball on nearly every shot.  Each shot we hear…….Go Go, Stay right, Draw, Land soft…..on the tee box.  Go Go, Get up, run, that is short……. on the approach shot.  And on the green he really talks to every ball…… Go Go, Harder, Stay left, Stay right, should of had another Cheerio for breakfast, and does your husband play golf also if you leave a putt short.  Now….. he is a good guy other than talking to everyone’s golf ball. And he is the first one to say…great shot if you hit a quality shot. I have told him I prefer he stop talking to my ball and he does for one round and then the next round he is back to talking to a golf ball. He is a very good golfer and other than this one annoying tick fun to play with. We have concluded he can’t stop and we try to ignore his chatter to a golf ball…… but some days we just want to yell….Shut Up!  I am looking forward to the comments and so are my other playing partners.

@Surgehigh, have we met on the golf course somewhere?  I apologize, but I'm unlikely to change any time soon.  I even try to talk @billchao's ball back on the golf course sometimes.

Just say, “Now Bill, we had an agreement. Now I am charging you a dollar every time you talk to my ball because you are super annoying!”  And then start laughing. Or just ignore him.

As long as he’s not telling your ball to go into the lake or woods, I wouldn’t care.

If someone’s intentions are good, and they’re a good person, I don’t let that kind of stuff bother me (whether a little annoying or not).  I admit though, I do happen to be one of those guys who roots his buddies on (and their shots ).

That just gave me some inspiration for this risky advice:
 

The next time he does it you walk right up to him and slap him across the face. Then say, “Keep my ball’s name out your f-en mouth!” If you want to really get the tension higher say it again. He will get the message!

I can see where that would be annoying. But it could be so much worse. One of you needs to change and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be him. Have you considered earplugs?  😁

I don’t think this would bother me too much aside from being beaten badly by him each round.
