That means if I can talk my friends into getting SS, I can set up a leaderboard. 🙂

Now through July 8, the code to save you 15% off the ShotScope product line is: thesandtrap.

Those are referral links, too. The last two are the ones we've been discussing in this topic.

The website is showing the H4 and Pro Lx+ as out of stock for me. Anyone else having that problem?

Yeah I was following along here and debating on picking the H4 up, but out of stock for me as well.

I was just able to place an order for the H4. I did get an error message that it was out of stock, but it allowed me to check out and place the order. I have a confirmation e-mail.

I'm sure it will be fine, it's just strange. I put it on a credit card, so I can always dispute the charge if worst comes to worst. Not really worried about that though.

I forgot to charge the H4 last night. We’ll see how many holes it lasts this time.

Ok so it charged 20% in the 30 minutes I was home which probably would have been enough for the round at 46%, but then I realized I could charge it in my car on the way to the course so it worked out fine.

I ended up over 65% so it looks like it charges about 40% per hour.

The Shot Scope tags have a slightly longer screw than the Game Golf ones. I’m hoping they’ll stay in the PURE grips better because of that.

I noticed on a couple of shots from the other day that they do pop up out of the grip and I had to screw them back down. I can’t say for certain if the longer screw on the Shot Scope tag keeps it from popping out completely like my old GG tags or if I’m simply noticing when they first start to pop out with these because I’m tagging the unit to the club. Might be the former because at least one of the times I noticed the tag was loose after I hit my shot.

For those with PURE grips who are concerned about tags popping out, I think silicone might still be the way to go.

Hey all.  So I just removed the first of my GG tags from a club.  Here is the result.  Will this be a problem when I get the Shot Scope?  I guess I'm asking if I have to regrip my clu bs for the tags at this point (grips are otherwise in good condition -- if I were just going from GG to nothing, I'd be fine with the grip the way it is).

I wouldn't guarantee anything but I believe silicone, as @billchao suggested would be your best option.   When I removed my GG tags there was no tearing like yours, just silicone residue.  Then again, I don't have pure grips.

I've found it charges very quickly. I forgot to charge it last week and plugged it in in the pro shop while I warmed up, it easily charged enough to handle 18 holes.

The only complaint I have, and it's a small one, is it takes A LONG time to find the GPS satellites. I missed tagging my opening drive a couple times due to this issue. You can't flip it on as you walk to the tee box. For a comparison today, I set it next to a Bushnell Phantom 2 and a Garmin Approach G80 and they both were able to find the satellites and were ready to go in less than half the time as the H4. And forget about it if you are playing a course you have never played before, it took forever to pull up the two courses I played in Mexico. I turned it on as I drove to the first tee and I missed my drive and my second shot.

Other than that little gripe, I love this thing. So easy to use, so convenient, great data, and very accurate.

You probably play the same course frequently, too. I do it a few minutes before.

Today at Mid-Pines it took about two minutes. But at Mid-South (after we played Talamore in the morning), it took literally 15 seconds.

If you change areas, it has to do more work. But that's why I said the first thing.

I also didn't load anything on my phone when I traveled. Not that you had to with GAME Golf, either. And with GG you only got blinking lights to let you know if you were on the course and GPS locked. This at least tells you on the screen.

    • Yea, that’s what was also great about them.  They were still appropriate whether you played to a 30 or a 10 index.  I think the same can be said for the Mizuno JPX or Titleist AP1. If you fall in love with the Stealth irons, you like how they set up to a ball, they’re fit appropriately (length, shaft, you can adjust lie down the road if necessary), and within budget… I say go for it.  I mean you’ll probably be playing them for 8+ years, and will get your money’s worth. I would recommend hitting a few other irons while there, just to confirm you’re in love (kinda like dating before you tie the knot).
    • @darthweasel does it say anywhere on the scorecard if the executive course is OB? If it's not and it's definitely not staked OB then I would have played it, too. Earlier in the year I pushed a tee shot on a par 3 off the course but there were no stakes to mark OB and nothing on the scorecard indicated it was OB so I played it. It was clearly off the course, though, because it ended up in the grass on the side of the road that the town maintained. Though this got me thinking, could the course mark the penalty area on the side that @darthweasel was playing on and say it goes on indefinitely? And do the same for the executive course side, so the stream is marked on both sides but is only meant to be a lateral boundary depending on what side you're playing?
    • Sorry @ChetlovesMer and @Shindig One last thing, my uh budget just recently expanded quite a bit. I bought a semi expensive piece of equipment for my home office which died a short and abrupt death. Was going to return it when I posted on social media about it and the brand's director of relations offered to replace it and throw in another free much more expensive unit as I spent some time talking to him and his team and sent my failed unit directly to the engineers for testing. I don't have much a use case for the other unit so I'll probably sell it and put the money towards my irons. Incredible how life works sometimes isn't it? So uh, bump the budget to 1k. Do your recommendations change? Thoughts on the Stealth Irons from TaylorMade? I'm kind of falling in love with them and heading over to dicks to hit them tomorrow.
    • It's the nature of posting text only, I guess.  Sarcasm, mood, tone, etc don't always come through to the reader like you imagine it when writing.  (I know this very well first hand :)) For the record, I read your "Saudi" post as a tongue-in-cheek joke, so it wasn't a total miss. 🍻
    • I guess this is the thread to put this in, read a rumor that the PGA might be guaranteeing 500K to exempt players. So if one makes 100K for the year, he gets 400K. Will have to wait for details after meeting is over.
