Looks like he won't be playing for a while.

Bummer.  I was looking forward to see what he will do in the next tournament after that performance on Sunday at the Masters.

Oh man :(    And I had just predicted him to be the next American #1.

I had to call my mom and break the bad news.  She was so looking forward to seeing him (on TV) this year on mother's day.

Hmm, maybe injury is what will keep him from beating Jack's major record. He was on a good run now, hope this injury won't set his progress back again.

Ugh this stinks. I was really looking forward to watching Tiger rectify last year's awful performance at Quail Hollow (74-79-Missed Cut) with his new swing. Hopefully this doesn't cause him to miss the PLAYERS too. That tournament doesn't need yet another top 10 ranked player not in the field!

I knew he would be.  He showed it on his approach on the 18th as well.  He was limping walking to the green but he never said a word about it.

I hope he takes his time coming back, he doesn't need a repeat of 2008. For his sake I kind of hope he doesn't return until the U.S. Open, but I kind of expect him to come back at the Players. That gives him a solid month. I was kind of curious when I realized yesterday that Phil had already committed to Quail Hollow but Tiger had not, though he usually takes a while to commit.

Maybe he should just play injured. I mean he shot a 31 at Augusta after this injury, and he won a US open on one leg.

At least now he'll be able to get in some putting and chipping practice.

He must really place some torque on his body to sprain his MCL and achilles from one swing.  Is anyone aware any studies that have been done on golfers to calculate how much torque and stress is placed on the knees, hips and shoulders during a swing?  I know they have done studies on pitchers and determinined the maximum speed the elbow and shoulder can handle before it self destructs.  I wonder if there's a theoretical maximum swing speed we can achieve before something in our bodies is likely to fail.

Me and a buddy drove through the night on Sunday 3 years ago after he forced the Monday playoff at the 108th US Open. Sustained the next 24 hours on Rockstar and seeds. I don't get to many PGA events, but I also was at The Masters on Sunday - that was intense. Just wanted to brag... err, share. :-)

4 knee surgeries, a bad neck, 2 bouts of Lasik, etc. And now this.
There is no way physically he will be playing at 40+. He has become 'Elijah Price' from the movie 'Unbreakable'. Every year he has some sort of physical breakdown, this isn't going to get better. I would guess he has 3 more seasons before something happens to end his ability to play at the pro level.
Look for a back problem soon.

I'll take either of those bets Rich.

I thought the new and (supposedly) improved, restructured swing was supposed to help prevent things like this from happening again?
