He was AWFUL without it - even admitted it's the only reason you see him anywhere on the front page of the leaderboards anymore.  Can't wait til it gets banned and he fades back into obscurity.  I'm with you on not liking him for the exact same reasons.  His caddie is a loser who needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut and that putter just annoys me.  It certainly is awful.

Besides him, eh, not a big fan of Angel Cabrera.

I can't stay away from this thread and I promise you I'm not a hater (disliker either). I was watching Solheim Cup from two years ago and Christina Kim was acting bizarre. Don't really dislike her...she's annoying!

Steve Stricker......I will keep the underlying reasons to myself, but a complete ass*hole

Don't usually waste energy rooting against particular people or teams*, but if Bubba Watson was playing a three-headed green alien in a "Space Jam"-style matchup with the fate of the entire human race at stake, I'd be cheering for the golfer with tentacles.

Ian Poulter - In my opinion he is the walking definition of a douche bag. From his look, to his constant bitching and moaning about anything that is on his mind…there is nothing I enjoy more than watching him crumble in majors…and stroke play in general. If he wasn’t so good in match play he would irrelevant! I have to give him credit for being a Ryder cup stud but I hate him.

Poulter is hillarious and on tour hes well known as being a humorous fun guy to be around. As for the person who lost respect for phil because he applauded GREAT shots made by Rose during the Ryder Cup... clearly just doesnt understand the game, its history and what it stands for

Glad to see I'm not alone in this regard. I've heard lots of people slam Phil for the Ryder Cup match vs Rose and I just don't get the mentality. I thought it was pure class.

Agreed.

He was acknowledging good play, not "applauding his opposition".

I'm with all of you three.  There was an extensive argument on this topic in the Ryder Cup thread ... if only Shorty was around at the time (I think it was during your hiatus)  ;)

I'd probably say  Tiger Woods

as much as i like what he has done for the game of golf...  I've felt that once he became a big star on tour, everyone just kind of looked the other way...

He throws temper tantrums cusses and swears, berates someone in the gallery, oh it's just Tiger being ultra competative...

Someone else does this, and they are over reacting...

Probably the best thing that ever happened was Tiger and his Ex getting into the imfamous fight and Tiger crashing his SUV, and the world finally finding out who he really is.....   A extremely bratty guy with a lot of money who thought he could get away with basically banging all the ****s in the world... Yet he was married to a really attractive women, yet she just was not enough...   And then his golf game went to crap, and he ended up being just another good golfer..

It is what it is

Can we expand this topic to include people who say that a particular pro golfer is an a-hole, but then say "but I'm not gonna explain why"? If you aren't going provide us with an explanation behind a highly controversial opinion, why on earth are you bothering to share it with anyone? Why would you think any of us care, if you don't give us a reason why?

This is particularly true when it comes to someone who is as universally well-regarded as Steve Stricker. Quite frankly, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the guy, certainly nothing worse than comment on his failure to win a major or the bad couple of years he had after his initial success when he then switched equipment for a better endorsement deal. I live in Wisconsin and I've never heard anyone say a less-than-positive word about him here. For whatever it's worth, I once grabbed a quick breakfast at a restaurant where he was eating with his family and he seemed about as pleasant and kind of a father and husband as anyone I've ever seen. I know someone who knows Stricker and I plan on asking about this [almost certainly false] claim that he's a jerk under the highly pleasant public facade.

BallStriker, if you are going to make highly critical statements about someone, at least have the guts to explain why. Otherwise, you sound like a child whining on the playground. If there is a genuinely reasonable explanation for why you wouldn't share this information about Stricker, at least send me a PM and if you do have a good reason, I'll concede that point to you here in this forum.

    • Day 118 - Spent some time working on the full swing. Need to film some swings for Evolvr tomorrow.
    • playing with cleveland hybrid irons have friends that use hybrids anyone using hybrid irons or hybrids would appreciate fwwdback
    • I dont know if I really have a favorite, but there are two that have stuck in my mind for a very long time. #15 at Erie Golf course during the Finals of the EDGA Matchplay. Was up early and then lost a few holes in row so the match was close again. My opponent had a short putt for birdie. I hit past hole high, but 35 feet right. I drained the putt and looked over at my opponent who was in disbelief.   #8 at Whispering Woods during another year of the EDGA Matchplay. Was playing a very cocky opponent who made sure to mention on the first tee how many times he won the club championship at this course. I hammered this 30 footer that clanked off of the pin and dropped. My opponent was disgusted and that made me weirdly happy. I went on to win 5&3 or something like that, so that entire day has stayed in my memory.
    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
    • Day 296: did a stack session.
