Ok, after living in SoCal for 19 years I can now relate to winter frustration. I’m in Bergen Norway for 4 weeks . No golf, freezing and windy. I’ll get to golf late February.

The fairway is flooded?   That's not winter...real winter you'd almost be able to putt and make the green with that frozen!

138 inches... pfffft.  45 miles east of me they average 663 inches a year.  In 1999 they set a record for 1,140 inches!  The catch is it's the Mt. Baker Ski Area.  I don't try to play golf up there.  Though they did once have a miniature golf course at a hotel there.

Sure, but they're not a city with 100,000+ people. Or they'd be on the list.

... and Mt. Baker has no golf courses, for obvious reasons.  A few years ago, in Spring, I skied up there in the morning and early afternoon.  Came home, went to my favorite watering hole, then decided to play nine holes of golf.  Golf, skiing and drinking, all in the same day... life is good.

I feel for you guys.  Snow is wonderful and beautiful, but after awhile it becomes oppressive and prolongs the time you can get back on the course.

The five feet of snow we got around Christmas melted off almost entirely in the span of three warm days a week and a half ago.

Snow can melt pretty quickly. So we might play golf in March for all we know, here in Erie.

Probably not, but April for sure, I think.

Still bad over there Erik?

Erie even got on the news over here last month and it looked bad.

We're supposed to get back over freezing today and then 40s for the next three before it gets cold again.

Not sure how fast the stuff is going to melt, but I need to get out a bit this weekend even if golf isn't possible.

Yeah our issue is that it has been below freezing a majority of the past month or so and doesn't seem to be letting up. Also the sun does not exist in Syracuse which doesn't help matters.

Well, to add to this Winter's misery, the last Winter storm to come through, which featured rain, freezing rain, sleet, and 8" to 10" of snow collapsed the local golf dome! So, there is no place around to practice over the Winter! And this is about the time when I'd start going up there to get ready for the season. But, listen to me griping! This guy lost most of his way of life! This is his busy season. Hoping he can negotiate with his insurance company and rebuild. Here's some pics I took the other day.
