Built a snowman yesterday.  Hopefully the last of the year. I typically include a golf theme using an old golf bag, clubs, hats, etc...

Holly crud @bkuehn1952. You aren't that much further north than I am and you still have all that white death?

It's supposed to be mid 40s and a bit dreary, but I don't care. I've been cooped up in this office for 7 straight days. I'm escaping this afternoon and there isn't anything anyone can do about it.

It's looking good, possibly very good this coming weekend here, as long as the melt continues I think it's on, the battle horn will be sounded across the Island.

58° today! Melt melt melt! I really hope we don't get our annual (nor)Easter storm...

We usually get an ice storm around my daughter's birthday early April.   Last year was an exception but I'm all for "ready golf"...

High tomorrow around 33º.    I saw several people out golfing today.   It was nice enough outside to play but I had other commitments.

sigh....the life of a retiree...

The high tomorrow is forecast to be in the low 30's! I'll be heading for the golf dome to hit a small bucket. There's a string of upper 50's to mid 60's days predicted after that. Will I be playing? No! I'm going to go fishing and give the courses a chance to dry out.

We got two days in a row of 50s. There was some melting but the cold is coming back. I was able to hit into my net in the backyard after I shoveled a clear area to put the mats.

After a cloudy day in the 50s I wake up to about a half an inch of snow...

If the weather forecast is accurate :-$ the rest of our snow should be gone this weekend.  Highs next week in the low 50s... might get out next Friday... if the forecast is accurate.

Yesterday there were very few patches of snow remaining on the course.  Soggy as hell and it will take some dry weather and warm breezes to make things a bit more playable.

This time of year conditions change rapidly.  This was taken Friday morning.  I played 18 holes on Sunday.  Northern tier golfers take heart!

First golf courses in Finland have opened! My home course isn't open yet, but should be doing so in April, if there isn't any sudden snowfall in the upcoming weeks.

I have noticed again that the winter break does good, and get's me excited to play again!

Not that I've had the time for much, but It's been largely playable here for the past few weeks. ... Watching the cycles of rain and sun, the grass is starting to grow and I have high hopes that the eviscerated fairways at Kittyhawk will make a solid comeback by the time I can really get at it. They let people play all winter and in all kinds of weather, so they were still a mess when I snuck out of the office on Saturday afternoon.

    • Day  3 (4 May 24) - Easy pitch day with 9i in the backyard.  Worked on staying smooth thru impact, keeping shots to 20yds or less.
    • From what I’ve read, it was in the manufacturing process and how the covers were nicking pretty easy.  He has had to resource his factory as the one used earlier is now a TM owned facility.  Initial reports seem to indicate the redesign is going to be a winner…
    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
