Not anything specifically designed as a swing trainer, but like restrictive clothing to help people who overswing. The thought came to me since I'm freezing my butt off working outside so I put on my coveralls. As I usually do, I make some mock swings when I'm standing around, bored, and I realized that the suit restricts me just enough that I can't overswing going back. I imagine I can do the same thing with a sport jacket or suit jacket. Is that allowed? It's clothing, after all.

As along as it isn't designed to aid in ones swing, then it's fine.  After all, as you say, it's only clothes.  However, something that is restrictive in one plane, may turn out to be restrictive in a way that you haven't anticipated too.

I think its fine as long as you post video of you swinging with a suit jacket.....

I don't see how wearing clothes for comfort, for the weather at hand, could fall under any of the rules of golf. Of course some types of clothing won't be allowed on some golf course due to dress code etiquette. That's an individual course rule, and based on accepted social behavior according to others, for that course.

Professionals are allowed to put on rain gear, and or heavy sweaters as needed.

I do know what you mean about wearing winter clothing allowing the golfer more control in their swing. Of course, with that more controllable swing, there is usually some  loss of distance. I have played some pretty good golf when wearing my ski suit. :-D

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure. As for the second part, I guess I'll have to try it to find out ;-)
I think its fine as long as you post video of you swinging with a suit jacket.....
You know I would. Come on, that's barely a challenge :-P

Sounds OK to me, but it sounds like your playing partners are going to have to stand upwind of you during summer rounds. ;-)

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I hook the ball a lot more when I have three layers especially the first 4-5 holes. For me the innermost layer (tight UA turtleneck) seems to be the most restricting.

I think over time an over-swinger will adjust and start over-swinging anyway. Definitely not around the year swing aid.

Pretty sure it would be a major faux pax to be out on the course with a suit jacket but not the pants or the tie or the wingtips. You wouldn't want to make the back pages of People magazine, now would you Bill??

Oh well. Hakuna Matata ;-)
I hook the ball a lot more when I have three layers especially the first 4-5 holes. Can't tell you how I'd swing with my coveralls on, but I'd say I can't overswing, at least not without doing something ridiculous like getting underplane and pulling my right elbow way behind me. Although I can see some benefits to the feel, it most definitely is not a permanent fix (see quoted response above ;-))
Pretty sure it would be a major faux pax to be out on the course with a suit jacket but not the pants or the tie or the wingtips. I suppose I could get a pair of wingtips from True Linkswear (I almost bought them before the holidays before I remembered that I didn't really need them). Maybe I can go full tweed, kick it back real oldschool to go with my hat. What magazine would I make then? :-P

Way to crush my dreams, now I have to actually work on my swing instead of hoping for a quick fix :-P
