My home course has an online booking service, I use it almost exclusively.  The front desk is always busy and I feel like when I call them I'm disrupting whatever they are doing, so I like and prefer to book online.  If I play at another course, I'll first check to see if they have online booking and go that route if possible.

I play with a group that has permanent tee times Monday-Friday. Weekends, I'll call or make a tee time while I'm in the pro shop. If I'm playing at a different course, someone else makes the tee time.

Up until this year I booked on Golfnow exclusively. Now that they charge online fees no matter how many rounds I book, I've switched to using the course's website.

I belong to a private club and we have Foretees, which is a proprietary program for private clubs. We don't generally have tee times, but we do for tournaments. It works fine but, for some reason, I just feel better when I call and confirm it with somebody in the shop.

I've done it online a couple of times, but rarely, and then through whatever link is on the course's website.  I'm more likely to just call.

Depends on the course I'm playing, and the availability of tee times on-line.

If you can't book on-line because there isn't a tee time that fits your schedule then call - they may let you start on the back, or they may not make all the tee times available on-line.

Used to phone in to book, but now i'm starting to book more and more online. It's much easier and quicker in my opinion.

Also allows you to book a time even if the golf shop is closed.....  I probably book 80% of my times in the off-hours.

I tend to play on the spur of the moment.  So I use the sites to see if there are open times to play.

But then I'll call the course and reserve the time and tell them the price on the website.  Usually the regular rate is the same (without the booking fee).  If the site offers a good deal, I'll ask them to just match it and take out the middle man - we both win.

One time, it was a really slow day at one course and I went there in person.  For some reason, the kid behind the desk wouldn't match the golfnow rate - I even showed it to him on my phone.  So he watched while I got on my cell phone and booked it right in front of him.

If it's so busy that I'd have to use the site just to get a time, that's usually a good sign to go kayaking or rock climbing instead.

When we went to Hawaii last year we played twice - both times, booking directly with the course was SIGNIFICANTLY less than any booking site.

I'm new at this whole golfing thing so I'm all about GolfNow. Haven't played without it. I use Teeoff sometimes too but mostly GolfNow. Only times I don't is if someone else is booking or for twilight rounds at the course by my school.

I prefer the interaction of phone calls. And I've had problems with golfnow and other online carriers trying to book tee times.  A phone call to the course, I get an answer right away and I know itll be set.  Golfnow doesn't update right away so times are on there that are already booked and its annoying.

Almost always online for our group, quicker and easier.

When I play as a single, I check the tee sheet online, show at the pro shop about an hour early to book and practice. Usually works, and when there is more than I care to wait for the next single spot I have at least got in some direly needed range time.

Online, particularly GolfNow, if it's a spur of the moment round.  If I'm planning a round out, like knowing today (Tuesday) we can get out Saturday, I'll call the shop directly.

Golf Now barely has any courses in our area surprisingly. They seem to be the same couple tracks so it's not looking too great.

Let's see, I can go to a website, enter my zip code to find courses near me, find the course I want to play, look through all the available tee times, then login or create an account, enter my credit card information, and most likely wait on a confirmation email...... Or I could call the course, tell them my name, and when I want to play. Call me old school but I always use the phone, ordering a pizza, booking a tee time, communicating with family, I'm a phone guy.

I apologize for having a spam URL in my signature and will not do it again.
