15 mins mapping in front of a mirror. Putting on and off all day while watching the Players - working on a new stance/arm position to overcome some face issues I was having.

I got a net and a mat for my birthday today! Been out in the yard taking some slow and deliberate swings for about an hour. I'm super excited to be able to hit real balls every day now. And excited about not taking divots out of the yard anymore.

Hit into the net for about 15 minutes. Getting more comfortable standing a bit closer to the ball and working on getting the backswing into a better position at the top.

30 minutes hitting into the net. Alternated between pitching and full swing more often than yesterday, just to keep myself on my toes.

35 minutes hitting into the net.  Felt good, mostly good contact.  Arms felt relaxed and grip felt fairly tension free, not a "death grip".

Some mirror work on the backswing piece and some slow motion swings getting the hips rotated quicker and keeping the spine tilt.

Got busy with grad parties and school and all and just totally forgot to post in this thread D: Welp I have next month but I played a full round yesterday and shot a 96 with awful short game and 2 ob tee shots. Need to work on my tempo with my driver and I neglected my short game to practice my full swing just a tad bit too much but my irons were mostly on point. Had an easy birdie/par opportunity and I looked up on a pitching wedge so other then that good round. Today I worked on my short game a lot and I am getting a lesson this next week so just gotta keep working.

It's not just rotated faster. But I think you know that. I did about 10 minutes in the mirror while watching some TV today.

Probably earlier & more is better to say than faster.

Used the Gold Flex swing trainer. Did several 40-swing sets this afternoon and evening. About 10 minutes total, not counting breaks. Today's drill sought to build tempo and lag.

( Note: Gold Flex is the one that, according to ads, "costs much less than the Orange Whip.")

Took me long enough, but I got my five minutes in. I know I sound like a broken mp3 saying "slow swings indoors," but that's what today was. During yesterday's round, I think I convinced myself that the practice is paying off, as my swing felt more fluid. I'm not sure if I'm stopping at A4 yet (goal is to not), since I'm clearly moving from back to forward there, but at least I've stopped the hitch of stopping at A2.

Hit balls on the range focusing on the usual priority pieces and played 18.

I have been doing a focused 5 minute session every day, and am surprised by how much I am learning. No definitive results yet, but it seems to bring up many issues and potential solutions in a very concrete manner. Recording every session, but have only posted 4 out of 10 days so far as these are my discovery sessions.

15 mins in the practice nets. 3 wood, hybrid, 6 iron, 8 iron. Full, slow swings, working on a centered hip turn (as usual).

Did not do any drill work yesterday, just a few pitches.  I did my Mother's day yard work for my wife after spending the morning with my Mom.  I was really sore.  I will keep posting though.

    • Day 556, May 11, 2024 Lessons all morning. Stayed after and worked for 20 minutes. Caddied in the afternoon.
    • Who freaking cares about Tom Watson here? Why do you keep talking about ONE other dude, who overlapped Jack less than you seem to realize? We've been over this: Tiger's 82 PGA Tour wins were against significantly stronger fields than any of Jack's major (or regular) PGA Tour victories. That's what I call "accomplishing more." I don't care if Tiger (or Jack) finished T9 at something. What I wrote is not absurd, because I value Tiger's victories as more difficult than Jack's. Just as I would if, say, Scottie Scheffler gets to 11 or 12 majors in his career. You've now earned your timeout. I'm not a fan of repeating myself or discussing things with the intellectually dishonest.
    • Tom Watson's peak ability possibilty surpasses Jack. He won 6 PGA Tour    No he did not. That is factually false. Just on the face, what you just wrote should immediately seem absurd to you. You are golf pro. Have you not followed golf the last 15 years at all?
    • Dude, for the umpteenth time now… Someone achieving less in more time is not a good argument. When he wasn't playing golf? Yeah, wow, what a statement! FFS, man. No, it isn't. Tiger won more PGA Tour events, each of which had stronger and deeper fields than any of the major victories Jack had. Jack played against (slightly exaggerating) ten year olds. Cool for him, easy way to rack up top tens, top threes, and wins. I don't care about that. Tiger set more strokes gained and scoring average records than Jack ever did, even over a LONGER period of time (if you want to keep pushing that, which is dumb). Ha, bull.
