About every hour at work, spent 5 or so minutes talking a break looking at my setup in the large window in front of me which has an adequate reflection. So, about an hour of "mirror work" focusing on address keys. Trying to make them feel natural. Getting there.

I spent 15 mins working on my mapping while walking my dog. My 1st mapping drill was to make sure I was getting a reverse C look after impact. My revised drill is to get my hips more forward on my backswing and my knees closer together on my follow through. I have to make sure I'm blending my new thoughts with my old ones. I was working on my new drill and forgot to keep up on my old check points.

Before work, I did the weight forward, chair drill.

After work, I stopped at the practice green to work on chipping but it was windy and cold and I was under-dressed so didn't stay long.

Just spent about 15 minutes working on putting on the rug, basically working on "steady head" for putting:  I have the terrible habit of watching the putter head instead of keeping my eye on the ball.

Range work today. Just working on my "play" swing and hitting to different targets. Picturing a lot of the shots at San Gabriel CC I'll be hitting this week.

Pretty impressive. Hopefully Callaway will replace it for me.

Pretty sure Callaway will replace it. Did you hit behind it or something?

Did not hit behind it, just a regular clean hit. Called Callaway and they said it wouldn't be covered, sounded like they would only replace it if it snapped close to the hosel. They probably have that policy to weed out folks who might have snapped it over their knee or something.

For my practice today I worked on my putting stroke for 15 minutes or so after finishing an impromptu scramble with some of the caddies from work.

Played a round today. The golf was fun, but my scoring was poor. Working to transition the hip turn and backswing positions to the course is slow progress

Indoor chipping practice.  Aim point was my Shih Tzu's little dog bed.....lol!  Most went in, so good aim point.  Nice tempo.  Then some pitching using the float, soft arms.  A little work on the swing parts and a few full swings.

Did a pitch shot practice with plastic balls.  Again focusing on consistency through impact.   I need to get this to 80% consistency.  I am not getting that yet in practice or in field.  It's costing a stroke here and there.  I am going to do this drill every day hereon until I can hit at 80% consistency.  Kirk out.

This + chipping on carpet for 70 balls using LW, SW, GW, and 7i.

Practiced putts between 3 and 10 feet long indoors on my putting strip. I used my Ping Pal (made in 1970s) for the putts; this was my main putter until four years ago when I switched to the Ping Scottsdale B60. Between the two, the Pal seems to be a bit heavier. need to compare the swingweights.

Busy day, but was able to get out on my putting green and create some "3" degree practice ... I just love watching the ball curve into the hole.

Dinner in the oven means I finally have time for my five minutes. Slow swings in the "dining room" (a weird name for a subsection of my studio) while the fish bakes.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
