" I know this isn't exactly what the OP is asking for but here are some numbers from my Game Golf rounds."

Probably something I should already know but how is the "Scrambling" % calculated?

  1. Scrambling : Percentage of holes on which golfer scores par or better despite failing to hit green in regulation.

I play official pitch and putt irish style (a 1200m 18 hole course with minimum 50m holes and mxi 90m holes). average is not known. good sore are -2 o -4. (lots of wind in the area, tiny greens, all elevated).

on a normal course par 3 are the hardest fro me with a 3,8 stoke average. 2 holes on my home course are 20 yards. one is 180 with water all around. one is tiny (150 yards) on a hill anything of is bounced far off and a huge plateau leaves only 5-6 yards to get the back of the green (flags never in the front as inclination too heavy to keep a ball from rolling back out).

best score average is on par 5 of course.

Would it be different if you actually play a par 3 course rather than only counting the par 3 of a regulation course?

It seems like most par 3 courses are much easier to play, especially if you get into a "groove" of playing par 3? You might miss a lot more greens because it seems like par 3 course greens are usually smaller?

And there is a big difference between an 80 yard par three and a 210 yard par three (and all the distances in between).

That said here is my average for par threes:

It's so cool you have those stats. I keep forgetting to tap my club.

40% of the time you break even. I should be so good. No doubt these are on a regular course (mostly) and some of those are 210, which is a short par 4 for most golfers. If we were better than that, time would not be an issue. I played two courses last week in under three hours. Well under, from 200 yards out on every hole--except the par 3's. Mostly because I didn't have to spend a whole lot of time trying to get the ball to the green.

It seems there is a need for something to change for us amateurs. There's something wrong here. I had a lot of fun, and a lot less stress. There is no difference between a par 3 course and a 72 hole course if every hole has a par of 3 strokes. It's just the same. I'd be happy to make par 40% of the time. I'm pretty psyched when I get one. ONE!

It's a very frustrating game.

Not many executive courses around me, but i shot -2 last time i played one. I use a an app to mark my scores when I'm playing in group money games,. There are 14 rounds entered and according to that, my average par 3 score was 3.3 last season.

210 yards is not a short par four for most golfers.-And Most golfers playing the right tees never see a 210-yard par three until they're better golfers capable of playing one-shot holes that long.

Not quite. . .

For ladies add 1 yard to that figure:

Quote
   Men  Women
Par 3  Up to 250 yards  Up to 210 yards
Par 4  251 to 470 yards  211 to 400 yards
Par 5  471 to 690 yards  401 to 575 yards
Par 6  691 yards and more  576 yards and more

The executive course near me has 5 par 3's with the following distances: 150, 140, 220, 125, and 210. An average of 4 is a good score for me.

There is definitely a difference my scoring executive course vs regulation Par 3.  At my local executive course, par 32, I average 2-4 over for 9 holes.  However, according to GG, I'm +.84 on Par 3s at regulation courses.

0.2 on each par 3, average 170 yards.

For 9 holes that would be 2 over.

This year I shot a 37 at the Treetops Par 3.   I was more than happy with that.  There aren't too many par 3 courses in Michigan but for my regular round, I average about 3.5 per par 3.

I wish!    The Par 3 is a 9 hole par 36 course.   If you're ever in Michigan, it is a must!   Elevation changes on a couple of holes are legendary!

Dumb question, but can a Par3 course have a course/slope rating?

If it's 3,000 yards or longer in can have a course/slope rating.  That works out to an average hole length of 167 yards.

I've played a par 55 (one par 4) that was 3,020 yards from the back tees.  It had a rating/slope for the back tee but not for the other tees.
