Their stock was also trading very high before the outbreaks. I'm not saying Monsanto, but possibly a competitor.

I really doubt it. The charges against someone intentionally poisoning customers would be severe.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

For your 19th hole . .go to a bar!  You can't eat a chicken and black bean burrito bowl and call it a "19th hole" . .even if you do get sick.

This^^

The 19th hole should include the option for some sort of adult beverage, whether or not you choose to partake of it.  That atmosphere seems more appropriate to to gloating or commiserating over a round of golf.

Never said I believed it, just that read it some where. Fact is I don't believe very much that I read on the web anymore no matter the source. In this case, they could close them all down, as I have never been in one of their stores.

I imagine most folks on here a not familiar with what happened to "Whatta Burger" when they got caught using horse meat. They closed about 90% of their store over that issue. I expect it will be about the same with Chipolte.

Can you point me to a credible reference  on this ... I can not find anything that supports the statement.  Thanks.

Did a google search - found nothing on Whataburger and Horse meat. In Dallas, they asked Chef Stephan Pyles where he likes to eat when he's not cooking, and he eats at Whataburger. So when he is not at Stampede 66, FT33, Fearings, or 20 Feet Seafood Joint in Dallas, try the Whataburger. My choice, too, when I do fast food once every 3 months -- no fries, just a Junior Whataburger with everything on a whole wheat bun. When I get daring, I go for the Whataburger w. everything.

Slightly OT ...  but, believe me I a fan of Whataburger ... I did not find anything credible about horse meat and whataburger

When I was on the high school golf team, the person with the best score of the day got to pick where the team ate lunch after a tournament. Our #1 player (who was ranked something like 4th in the state at the time) liked Chipotle, so we ate there a lot.

My only issue with Chipotle is the fact that they are deceitful in their advertising. I don't care that they may dislike GMO foods, but it's stupid to portray them as harmful despite mountains of scientific evidence to the contrary. That and it tends to make things more expensive (because part of what GMO foods can do is increase yield to decrease price), so I forsee a price hike in their future.

Either way the chances of actually getting sick are slim. There was a Qdoba next to my house where one of the workers came in sick on multiple days with typhoid fever (one of which was a day I ate there). Less than five people, including the worker, ended up sick in total at a busy restaurant on an interstate that serves hundreds each day. I wouldn't stop eating at Chipotle just because of potential health concerns, simply because stuff like that happens in all restaurant chains with varying amounts of publicity.

You can google "health dept closes whataburger" and current closings will show up across different states. The horse meat closings I am speaking of happened around 40+/- years ago. Started in Vegas and led to closings in SoCal, and AZ. as I recall. I know it happened because I saw it happen as I was a frequent customer of the place back then.

Okay, so it's relevance is historically related, not applicable to today's Whataburger. Thanks for the info. Whataburger is a Texas institution - does the old fashioned grilled burger - and well liked here although I partake on a very limited basis.

Never been to Chipotle. Never even conidered going.

We go there on occasion, maybe once a month, and have never had any problem at all. Maybe the law of averages has been in our favor.

Thanks for the feed back ... still can not find anything on horse meat ... I have no doubt there have been health dept issues with some restaurants, as I am sure food chains have a few owners that do not keep up on all health dept codes ... I am also confident they are handled quickly as well.

I spent close to 50yrs of my life in South/Southeast Texas, so I am a little familiar with the franchise.

Back to the topic at hand ... I have a Chipotle close by, that I visit monthly ... no problems that I am aware of.

If you've ever seen the lines at a Chipotle, they are similar to Starbucks - constant. Even at the stores that were affected I'd guess only a minority of the customers come down sick.

Chipotle after golf is a regular thing for me. BTW they DO serve beer there so it counts as a 19th hole.

That seems to be the problem, they use locally sourced products at all of their stores so I'm not sure how many suppliers in common each store has. One issue was traced to tomatoes from a regional supplier, but they've not been able to trace anything else to a specific supplier. It's kind of ironic and unfortunate, their organic and local focus seems to be preventing them from fixing the problem quickly.

That is interesting and reminded me of an interview with Jason Mraz back in 2010 (on the LIve at Daryl's House show).  He has a farm in Fallbrook CA and said that all his avacados go to specific local Chipoltes.

Chipotle has had issues in northeast Ohio and there was recently a report out of Columbus. The Dayton-area hasn't had an issue so far.

Maybe it's just me, but Chipotle is a digestive issue on the best day. At the risk of being a bit graphic, its tasty enough going down, but a nightmare on the other end.

The last couple of times I have played golf and attempted to get a beer afterwards has not worked out. Yesterday we finished playing at 4:10 and bar was closed already. I'm amazed how early they close the 19th hole in Florida during the winter months. We ended up driving down the street to Apple bees.

Chipotle beer in Manhattan used to be the best deal ever. A number of years ago, we'd go to the Chipotle at Penn Station and load up on the Sam Adamses for $2.50 or whatever they were before hitting the town. Prices have, regrettably, been adjusted to Manhattan-levels.
