We had a great day at Silver Rock today with @Big C.  It wasn't great golf, but it was great weather, a really good golf course, and a great time to reconnect with a Newport Cup friend.  The weather looks just a bit iffy for Thursday and Friday with @tristanhilton85, @mvmac, and @Golfingdad, but we'll be hoping for the best.

Nah, we should be fine Friday.  The chance of rain is currently only at 100%.

Just want to say thanks to @DaveP043 for the invite. Had two great days of golf with very little rain!

One of @Golfingdad's best shots of the day. Blind shot, I think from 180, to a small green with water short and left.IMG_0169.JPG.jpeg

I think I heard the Obama's are heading to Palm Springs right just after they leave office. Based on weather here in San Diego right now they won't be golfing.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Its beautifully sunny as the day dawns in Palm Desert right now.  We've had a great week here, played a lot of golf (some of it good), and reconnected with @Big C, @mvmac, @tristanhilton85, and @Golfingdad.  One more round today, then back to real life.

Nice to know you're getting some great golf in. The pictures look really nice. I love the dramatic clouds and background! Every time I go to Palm Springs everything looks kind of "dusty", the pictures you guys took are absolutely gorgeous!

Hope your last round goes just as well. . .

Sigh, I'm still stuck here at work. In fact, the past 6 months has been virtual non-stop "startup mode". Hopefully, you guys will reap the benefits of all out hard work here. Buy American floor cleaning robots!

It should let up soon. . .and maybe play a little more golf?

I'm going to revive this old thread for a third year.  Surprisingly, our friends Tom and Mary Ellen have invited us back to their winter home, so we'll be in Palm Springs arriving January 13, leaving January 20.  We only have four golfers this time (one couple has dropped out), so I'm not sure we'll have any open spots.  If that changes, I'll post again here.  Its been a lot of fun seeing @tristanhilton85, @Golfingdad, @mvmac, and @Big C over the last couple of years, I hope something works out again this year.

Lucky guys - My sister's father in law lives there and is a member at a nice course - to play it you have to be with a member.  Sounds to me like I'd not enjoy a round with him.  Drinks yes, golfing.....no

Why wouldn't you want to play with him?  I'm a Member of a club, that in order to play, you have to play with a member, and @DaveP043 is a member at one as well.

Kindly speaking, she predicts a personality conflict despite the fact that I'd put up with a LOT to play any new course.  She doesn't play anymore either, just goes to the range while the rest play.  Other than the golfing, no issues.  Sometimes the game brings out things.

Anyway - beautiful area and courses.  I'm sure to visit someday.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
