Masters: Jordan Spieth.  This may be my default Augusta pick for the next decade.

U.S. Open: Jason Day.  Oakmont has arguably the most impressive list of winners of any multi-time major venue, as it takes a great to master this beast.  As such, I'll predict another of the big three to win it.

British Open: Todd Hamilton repeat!....well, I won't make that big a leap, but I'll still stretch a bit to predict Lee Westwood finally nabs his major.

PGA Championship: Louis Oosthuizen, I just have a feeling he'll rise up and finally grab another major.

Bonus predictions: Phil Mickelson will record another second-place finish in a major this year.

British Open? Never heard of that tournament. You mean The Open Championship?

Todd Hamilton? LOL. Westwood? Isn't he ready for the Senior Tour?

My guess is that Spieth Day and McIlroy will win at least 2 of the majors, we'll get a surprise "unknown" for the 3rd, and the 4th will go to a veteran like Phil or Furyk (if he can get well).

Not going on much of a limb here, but I think the big boys dominate the majors this year. I also think Rory has a big year as he and Jordan try to battle for world #1. I think Day has a solid year as well, although not as good as last year. I think he's the third wheel to the other two, but if he can stay healthy (which seems to be his issue), he should have a solid year again.

Masters- Rory McIlroy
US Open - Jordan Spieth
Open Championship - Rory McIlroy
PGA - Rickie Fowler

Other predictions:
Olympics - Jason Day (Gold)
USA Team - Spieth, Fowler, DJ, J.Thomas
Sleeper to watch out for: Kevin Kisner
Breakthrough player: Justin Thomas

Masters: Jordan Spieth

US Open: Rory McIlroy

British Open (just to tweak Spiethismyhero): Danny Willett

PGA: Marc Leishman

Mcllroy seems to be primed to go after Spieth with a passion.  I see those two winning all 4 majors.

Spieth - Masters and US Open

Mcllroy - The Open and PGA

I'm guessing that Day has real trouble adjusting to the altitude in Brazil so I can't seem him winning the Olympics. But stranger things have happened.

Jordan Spieth

Just kidding, sort of. I am sure he will be the odds on favorite in all 4 if he continues at his present level.

The only of the four majors that I have a strong opinion is Spieth at the Masters.

I think Day will win one.   I do not think Rory will win one.   For the other two, I would go with one of the young guys like Chris Kirk or Kisner if they're trending well at the time, and for a long shot, Adam Scott - I think he's come to grips with the short putter & will regain form.

Masters- I'm not sure how anyone can pick anyone other than Jordan Spieth and feel okay about it.  He was great two years ago and completely annihilated the field in 2015.  He may not win it, but I can't feel right about picking anyone else at this point.  Bubba will be back in the mix as well.

U.S. Open- Dustin Johnson has the game for any course, but his game should stack up really well at Oakmont.  And what better story than DJ winning the year after completely giving things away on the 72nd hole?

The Open Championship- First off, I'm excited NBC has the license for this.  I'm sad they lost the USGA license, but they'll do this great event justice!  I'm picking Rory to win this one, although I think a lot of the big guns will be in the mix. Rory isn't going without a major two years in a row.

PGA Championship- I'll pick Rickie to win this, and if he doesn't win one of the first three, he'll be answering a lot of questions heading into Baltusrol.  I expect Day, Spieth, Rory, etc. to be in the mix here as well.

It's going to be a fantastic year of golf, especially the major championships.  I'm interested to see how the Olympics affect some of the players' schedule.  That could have a bit impact on who plays well in some of the late-season majors, FedEx Cup Playoffs, etc.

I really can't see DJ winning with those Oakmont greens. I think he has a better chance at Troon or Baltrusol, or even the Masters.

I think Spieth's game is more suited for Oakmont than anybody's. The greatest lag putter and grinder in the game should thrive there.

Master's - Rory or Spieth

US Open - Spieth

Open - Louie

PGA - Patrick Reed

I'll pick Spieth for all 4.  At worst I'll be 25% and the upside is 100%.

Jordan, Rory, Day, DJ (in the mix - put the names in a hat and pick a random winner for each)

although other than Watson in in '82, Troon winners have not been "name" guys (Hamilton, Leonard, Calc), so I'll pick a TST favorite Joost Luiten to be the dark horse candidate @ Troon

Players play, tough players win!

I'm going out on a limb here;

Masters:  Phil

U.S. Open: Spieth

The Open: Rory

PGA: Day

Joe Paradiso

Rory, Jordan and Jason will win one each and the fourth will go to some first timer having a hot week.  No idea who will win which tourney though

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)

Master's: Bubba Watson, he's won every other year since 2012 ;) He's a lefty, he likes the course. Though I want to see Rory finally tame Augusta and get his career grand slam.

US Open: This might be brutal. The last time the US open had the worst putting stats than last year at Chamber's was at Oakmont. I like Jason Day to win this one.

The Open: Dustin Johnson, he's do to win one.

PGA Championship: Rory
