really??  pleated pants?  thats a no-no.

Cardigans aren't terribly popular these days either, except maybe with Webb Simpson.  Or high-waters.  Or cigarettes.  (Or dirty-ass shoes with those tassle flappy thingies)

Not saying that I would wear those, but I think a lot of young fans will try to emulate him just like they did when he came to the Tour sporting OSU orange every Sunday.  Many of the PGA Tour pros hav

Hate the ugly shoes.. Just a feeling and an opinion of mine..  Now did he actually play with these?

He's worn them maybe half of the time in tournaments since Kapalua.  He's played very well too ... Winning in Abu Dhabi and top of the leaderboard this week as well.

I'm happy for him.. They are still some of the ugliest things I have seen in a long time though :)

The shoes kind of look like the old, old, old, did I say old, ancient Reeboks. I can see the young whippersnappers liking them or Fowler enough to copy him, Fowler can carry that look off because he's thin, but it's not a good look for your typical male middle age demographic, but then, none of Fowler's ensembles are - especially the all orange which reminds some of a prison jumpsuit. Like Billy Joel said, "You can't dress trashy till you spend a lot of money".

Hmmm ... you must be in your early 40's. :-P

Payne Stewart's throwback look never caught on, so I don't think we should worry much about this either.

Hold it, hold it, hold it I still have 12 days till you can use that F word to describe me lol.  It may have been late grade school/early middle school I remember the look was long gone by the time I hit high school.  Maybe in a few years they'll be wearing combat boots and flannel...there are a few guys on the tour that could probably pull off the Grunge look.

The high tops are actually functional and can prevent ankle rolling. The pants on the other hand.....

Lol nope. If your ankle is gonna roll, high tops won't prevent that. You'd need to fully tape your ankle to get a measure of prevention for rolling.

Yeah the kids in my school have been wearing the joggers going on three years now.

I don't do skinny jeans but slim fit pants/jeans on a fit guy look great, as does a slim fit suit and trust me the ladies appreciate that look.

I have a few slim fit suits, and they do look good, but they're a pain in the ass when you gotta take a piss.

Kinda wish that Rodney Dangerfeild movie was a true story, I'd probably buy his stuff. :-P

Plus, arnt u supposed to roll your ankles during the golf swing? I cant even hit balls in high tops or boots. Tried once in the sim at golf store and nearly killed my silly self. Ive had a bad lower body in my swing over the years. Improving my footwork has probably been the biggest improvement in my game.

The look is growing on me.  He's about the only being on earth that can pull it off though. :P

The pants just look insane to me. I don't know why you'd want to feel constricted around the ankles. The shoes just look ugly, though not solely because they're high tops.

Apparently, the combo have created a tendency for him to hit fades he doesn't want to hit ... bad juju. NOW I take that back -- he is not wearing that combo today.. Go back to it, Rickie, it worked in Dubai.

Was that his Tall & Fat store in Back To School?

Try DXL! Works well for me (or so I'm told).

I'm such a fashion #@^$!*, I can't even get to the point of wearing a white belt - which seems to be standard issue among golfers. Skinny jeans on an old guy like me - not a chance.

As far as trying to keep up with popular fashion, I gave up on that when the kids started wearing bell bottoms and hip huggers again. They should have learned from our mistakes 40 years ago.

I'm with NTG, the shoes are pretty bad, but what is with those freakin' pant cuffs???

Looks like he's getting ready to ride his bicycle.

They are called "joggers" and are hideous.

    • A few years ago I timed it just right and I went skiing in the morning and played golf in the afternoon.
    • Touche'.     I should have been specific.   We have a mix of green grass and enough snow to hide some.
    • If I drive 51 miles east I will find 10 to 12 feet of snow.
    • We're getting a little bit in Troy, OH right now. Not sticking yet, but that should turn over in an hour or two. Nothing massive but not golf weather and not really great walking weather either. Felt ok in the garage. Got out there and that breeze at the top of the hill was all it took to make it a 45 minute walk instead of an hour-and-a-half.
    • After reading an article about the documentary and the recent stuff with JT, it's hard to understand at what point you go from being an ordinary golfer to an entertainer.  Tiger started as an entertainer.  He knew the game he had to play.  I'd be lying if I said what happened in his personal life didn't matter to me.  But, after watching the father son challenge, I like that it seems that his priorities have been switched. I try to keep it about golf, but who you choose as an idol dives deeper into personal values.  But if the person is an entertainer and is putting on a show while playing a sport, you never really know the values.
