Rory has a two-major lead at this point, but in terms of age, Jordan has four-plus years to close that gap.  I would bet that Jordan wins at least two majors in the next four years.

That said, I voted for Rory, for two reasons: first, he's been around longer, with a proven track record; second, he is so explosive (I sometimes forget watching him play that he hits it basically as far as DJ) that you have to figure he can work the other stuff (putting woes) out and dominate.

Well, Rory's lead is down to 1.  I'll admit, I'm darn close to changing my vote.

Still stand by what I said...Jordan has the better chance for more longevity. I don't think Rory is done winning majors but I'm just not sure he can play at a high level as he gets deeper into his career. Jordan seems to me like a guy who won't have to go through many swing changes the next 20 years and can keep it going for a long time. And he's only 23. It's just gonna get tougher for him because the fields will keep getting deeper. But Jordan should have the chance  to rack up some more majors in his 20s if he keeps his head screwed on straight and keeps his team together. Greller is a great influence for him.

Probably Spieth. When he isn't playing great he finds a way to win, and he usually holes the crucial putts. Rory is either brilliant or terrible. If they are both at their best Rory wins.

I used to think this but I'm not so sure anymore. Jordan's ball striking has been improving. I actually feel like his game is better now than it was 2015. Meanwhile Rory's A-game hasn't been around for awhile since really 2014. It showed up a little at the end of last year but hasn't come back.

After the 3rd Spieth was talking about how he has changed his diet and his approach to fitness to help him maintain a long career.  Having this approach is a plus with the talent he has, but the biggest plus was overcoming issues he had today to close out the Open.

Had he melted down and lost the Open in the final round, his chances of winning more majors would definitely be in jeopardy.  I think he will be in the running to have a chance to win one each year for the next 10+ years.  He has 7 top 10 finishes so chances are he will be in the hunt.

Still think he would shade it but who knows. Would be great if they could go head to head at a major. Maybe one day. Maybe next month.

I hope Jordan is able to maintain and only make little tweaks on the full swing.  No major swing changes and I think he'll be the guy.  I voted for him.

Martin Kaymer was a baby cut machine for a while there and tried to change to a draw for Augusta and went downhill.

Jordan a right miss here and there is not all bad.

Rory can hit some hooks.  I question his drive.  IMO Day shouldn't be on the poll.

I don't think he'll stay healthy enough, long enough to compete for many major championships.  DJ should replace him in the poll.

I'm not sure how I missed this last year, and I feel kinda bad jumping in after this weekend, but I've gotta say Jordon.

The question is now, who gets the career GS first? Spieth or McIlroy?

I have a hard time seeing McIlroy winning a Masters anytime soon. It's going to have to be an Augusta that is soft and easier to putt on because Rory's putter is just not made for fast greens. His US Open was won on a soft track. He had a shot in 2011 at Augusta until his putter deflated on the last day. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jordan take care of the GS next month at Quail Hollow. A lot of guys that win the British do well at the PGA as well because it's only 3 weeks after so they stay hot. Tiger won both in '06, Paddy both in '08 and Rory both in '14.

I kind of feel the same way, like I'm cheating! After what I saw Spieth do today, I don't know that there are any obstacles he can't overcome.

In the Open Championship thread I referred to Spieth's demeanor coming down the stretch as "the look". When Spieth gets "the look" everybody else better look out!

Numbers don't lie. He's now the only other guy but Nicklaus to win 3 majors before the age of 24!

Too close to say. I'm voting Spieth simply because he has time in his favor. Plus, he seems to do well at Augusta National and that alone could be worth a few more major victories (like Phil).

FWIW I don't think any of them will reach double digits.

Jordan using that time to his advantage....

Though as I think about it more I've always felt Spieth is a more consistent player than McIlroy, in that Jordan tends to grind better and have better results when he doesn't have his "A" game. Rory is more streaky but absolutely lights out when he is on, but his bad days are worse than Jordan's. I still think Jordan wins more majors (and Jason shouldn't really be in this discussion).

Jason has painted himself right out of this picture. Maybe Dustin a better 3rd choice. Rory is just not consistent on the putting game, can miss a 2 footer sometimes. Jordan is the man, he is totally dedicated to his game and probably the best putter on tour.

I "guessed" Jordan.  Day's game is incredible, but I think his health is a serious issue, as far as winning multiple majors.  Rory could be the one, if he can stay consistent with his putting, which is questionable.  Plus, Jordan has the age advantage on both of them.

No argument there. If I had made the thread today (or anytime this year) he wouldn't have been in there. It's a shame with how good he is/can be at his best, but I think his health will keep holding him back.
