How much do you practice and how is it broken up? 10 mins/day vs 30 mins 2/week? None?

I've been doing the 5 mins challenge this month and found it extremely helpful, but before this I would just hit on the range 1-2/month

Just curious to see what you guys do!

I only have time to get to the practice range once or (rarely) twice a week, so I make sure to practice at home for at least 5-10 minutes a day (even if it's just slow-speed rehearsal or work in front of a mirror...or practice putting).

Not enough.

Aside from a certain amount of air swinging through the course of the average day, I'm barely seeing the range once a week. Lately, the short-game work and putting time has been very limited and I think its starting to really show in my futile efforts from inside 30-yards.

Gotta start getting out of the office a bit earlier.

I generally play one time per week.  I do not live very close to a driving range so my practice is relegated to hitting Birdie Balls in the back yard a couple of times a week, and maybe chipping a few balls in the back yard.  Chipping is only shots of 10 yards or so.

Honestly, the poll should probably have at least one more option like a few days a week. I don't always practice each day, though I really should, but I generally practice several times a week and play on some days I'm not practicing. The main problem I have is I get into a habit of playing all the time and not practicing. This tends to have me losing a lot of the progress I made when I'm doing well on dedicated practice. The goal is to find the right balance between play and practice to still be able to enjoy golfing while continuing to improve. Ideally I'd say if I spent 3-4 days on focused range time, 1-2 days on course practice, and 1-2 days playing post-able rounds that would probably be the best mix. However, that would be way outside my financial means so I end up doing about 1/2 of that or so.

I go through fairly extended periods of not playing or practicing . .but when I get the golf bug, I'm typically practicing for an hour or so each day with my mat and net, hitting the range at least once every 2 weeks and playing practice 9 hole rounds as often as I can . .which usually works out to twice a month but I'm really hoping to do better soon.  I have some time off work coming up and a big August planned, lol.

I hit the range whenever I can.  It was $185 for a range pass at one of the courses here, and I have definitely paid it off.  I usually like to hit the range a couple times a week, and then I play about 4-5 times a week.  Some of those days I will hit the range in the morning and then play in the afternoon as well.  I'm a junkie, but the scores are reflecting the work I am putting in.

I hit the range once or twice a week but have been able to play less than 1x week this season.  My short game and putting is suffering as well as getting good contact on downhill lies.

I swing a club almost every day in some form or fashion. I also do a lot of brisk walking every morning. A golfer needs good legs to get the most out of this game.

As for actual practice, most of that is for my chipping, and putting. Maybe an hour or so, 2 or 3 times a week. I will also give my longer approach game, up to 80 yards, some practice time too.

My off the tee game gets the least amount of my practice time.  Maybe once a month, if that.

A few times a year, in the cooler months, I will use a make shift range area to check my full swing carry yardages on all my clubs.

Just about all my practice time is geared to keeping the game I now have, current to my  physical ability.

However, when healthy enough, i play much more than I practice, which averages out to about 45 holes a week.

I usually play 9 after work and thats like 90% of my practice.  But I'll give myself a full range session once a week. For me thats only about a small bag of balls, through. I usually work on my alignment, tempo and pre shot routine.

I'm honestly surprised I'm as "good" as I am with how little I get out.  The last time on the range for me was in April for a 5-10 minute warmup before the first round of the year.  Before that?  Two years at least.  Before every round I typically spend 20-30 minutes on the practice green but otherwise I don't get out and never get a chance to work on my full swing outside of just practice rounds on the course.

I'm sure not a lot of instruction would take me to where I want to be, I need to stop telling myself that not having a chance to work on my game during the week will negate whatever I had practiced on the weekends.

I try to hit the putting green for a half hour. Then the 75 yard pitching green for a half hour set up about 30 or so sand shots the a few short pitches from  5-10 yards then a few on the bottom of the hill to go up and over. Then to the driving range to hit the bucket of balls. I do this 2x a week. It is 6$ for a small bucket

then I try to do 2 rounds a week durning the week. And a round on the weekend.

I work 2pm-10pm and I live 11miles from work. Only good part about second shift.

Seems to be helping shot an 80 today made 10 pars and 8 bogeys no doubles so I was happy I had only 3 3 putts. Everything else was 2 or 1. Short game was on fire from 75 in was landing 10'-15' from pin. Just bought a Nike vapor fly driver starting to get use to that hitting fairways from 250-285. Which I'm very happy with. Saved a par on a par three with a pitch to 15, and a uphill putt.

Range 2-3 times per week. 100 practice putts per day on my carpet while I'm watching TV or whatever and 1-2 days in a soccer field near my house to work on short irons. Roughly 10-15 hours/week since the weather broke here in Michigan. So for approximately 3 months now.

Its a shame all the work I've put in practicing hasn't helped aside from my putting. I literally almost drove off the course my last round. I put thenscore card away and just practiced some more that day. But I will say one thing golf has taught me about myself is I may be slightly masochistic.

Golf is a 4 letter word...

Not nearly enough. When I was practicing every day, I was improving a lot. Then injuries hit, and my practice slipped. Sure I pick up a practice club in the house every day and go through a few swing motions, but that's about it. I hit the range about once a week and the course about once a week. So I will shoot in the upper 90s.

A couple times a week. I never go to just smash balls anymore. I have a focus point in my personal sessions and I stick to it. I practice putting more now too.

This month I've promised myself to jump in a practice fairway bunker and finally (actually) practice getting out of the sand. We'll see how that goes.

The practice pays off. 18 months ago I was shooting 105-110. Now I'm shooting mid eighties and I truly feel I'll be breaking down the door of 80 by the time the cold comes in.

I can't vote, because I don't practice.  I try to play twice a week generally.
