Maybe it's kind of like the 4 minute mile. Sort of. Once people see it can be done, it's less of a "mental" barrier?

And then follow it up with a 64....  truly amazing. He's going to be something this year.

And I think he's one of the few 59 or betters who's won the tournament.

59,soon to become a regular occurence. What a fecckin joke.

It's hard to tell if this is a trend or just a coincidence in timing, but it's starting to look like you have a point. Kisner had a shot at it at the Sony and I think there was at least one or two others who were on a '59 watch'. The ~ 7,000 yard Waialea course didn't have much defense without the regular trade winds.

I guess when the course rating is lowish the pros can really get on a birdie barrage.

The Humana / Career Builder is always intended to be a birdie-fest. It's set up super easy to encourage players to enter the tournament after being off all winter. I'm completely not surprised to see someone go super low at this tournament.

Good point. If it starts getting to easy, the tour can always make the course harder.

On to occasional 58s now I guess.

I had a 59 on my score card once. Playing those last 6 holes screwed that up.

Mabye they shouldn't have 5pars on tour anymore.

Why? Most of the 59's come on par 70 or 71 golf courses anyways. Usually that is taking away the par 5.

Jim Furyk shot a 58 last year ;) There has been a 58 on the web dot com tour and the Japan golf tour.

If Hadwin holds on to win then 5 out of 9 golfers who shot 59 or less will have won the tournament. Not really classified as a few there ;)

    • Day 364: About an hour and a half practice session. Spent most of it at the range. Did a solid 30 minutes of work on my priority piece, with filming. I think it's improving, but will probably check in on Evolvr to make sure. Then spent the last ~20 minutes putting, working mostly on short putts.

    • Day 79 (19 July 25) - Band rehearsal this morning - got home midafternoon, opted to work more with the magnetic alignment tool with the wedges.  Used it to work on face position at the bottom of the swing arc - followed up with easy pitches up to 50yds.  Seeing better face control and over improved accuracy toward target…session was cut short with pop up rain showers.
    • This is a great discussion. Other parts of the course where there are houses have white stakes and signs. This keeps people from trespassing and hitting shots on their property. There is another county road on the east side of the course that does not have white stakes like the hole I described. I checked the score card and there is nothing to indicate these roadways are OB. I think a county drainage ditch would be considered government right-of-way so it is the peoples land 🤣. But you are in the power industry and know more about those sorts of things than me.
