My best shot was 30 yard pitch after punching out from the woods. Stopped about 2 feet from the hole. Easy tap-in for a par.

In my bag Driver: Cleveland CG tour black Fairway Woods: Diablo Octane 3 wood; Diablo 5 wood Irons: Mizuno MP53 5-9 Hybrid: Cobra 3, 4 T-Rail Wedge: 46* Cleveland, 50* Cleveland, 54* Titleist, 60* Titleist Putter: Odyssey protype #6 Ball: Maxfli U4/U6... But I'm not really picky about the ball I use.

Played in a scramble today. Started on 18, which was the straightest drive contest. I hit a nice solide tee shot about 250 (about average for a well hit drive for me) or so. It ended up about 14 inches from the center of the fairway. At the end of the day, I was the only one with my name on the straight drive paper. I played okay, but the good driver kept on going!

Ball is 30 ft out & green elevated probably 15 ft above my ball - nasty deep bunker in between & pin is short sided (#10 Glenbrook).     Pretty much jail if you don't pull off the shot.     I'm trying out a 64 degree wedge - hit the most beautiful lob shot, just cleared the lip above the bunker (love fact didn't have to open it up - has enough loft to accomplish the shot on its own).    Had a feeling it was going to be good - walked up the hill & saw the ball 2 ft from the cup.     I'm liking this club ...

65 yard Lob Wedge to an elevated green.  landed at 60, just missed the cup leaving about a 4 foot birdie butt.  (short Par 5 - good drive slicing 3wood)

Par 3 playing 147 yards and slightly up hill, took an 8 iron, gripped down and 3/4 swing. Ball mark 8 inches from hole and left with a 14 inch birdie putt.

[/quote] Oh my goodness this is a good idea! Wish I had thought of this earlier (I had planned on doing this only for holes in one...and my first ever eagle:) Regards Mailman

Last Saturday my son and I played the back nine at our local real early. Both of us shot even for the 9. Proud day for dad! Only a matter of time before he is consistently shooting lower than me. But the highlight hole was my nemesis hole the 14th. It is a 292yd par 4. has water to tee off over and hazard all down the left side and tree line on the right. For some reason I usually pull my tee shot into the hazard on the left. Seems to get me every time. Doesn't matter if it is a 4 iron or a driver. But today we were playing good and we challenged each other to go for the green.

I pull out the driver, aim down the tree line (to avoid the hazard haha) and stripe a perfect draw. He asks "where did it go? I lost it" I said watch the front of the green. It carries about 270 and rolls onto the green about 6 ft below the hole. Next I had a nice putt uphill slight left to right break and in for an eagle.

Fun morning!

One handed backwards punch out from from a bunch of crap underneath a tree putting the ball on the green. I didn't make the putt, but I didn't take an unplayable either.

Made two birdies on the front yesterday. The second one was pretty cool. A good drive followed by a 9i from 146. Hole plays uphill and I usually make a mess of it because they usually put the hole towards the back on a tier. But yesterday they had it towards the front on a flat spot. Dang near holed it on the fly, ball hit about 8" from hole and barely made it out of the ball mark.

Got under a drive leaving myself a 5i over a bunker. Heard a nice click and the ball cleared the bunker and rolled to 5'. Missed the stinkin putt, but what a shot.

s55 irons just make golf easier. Pushed my drive right into the trees during my round this afternoon. Had about 155 left. Had to hit a low cut out of the trees to avoid the right front bunker by the green. Choked down to the bottom of the grip on my amazing s55 5 iron, opened it up a touch and hit a low punch shot that cut around the front bunker to this spot at the back center of the green. Made birdie. Easy game with the s55 irons, right @Golfingdad and @CarlSpackler ? :D

I hit a 6i to 3' today with my Mizus today. I still love those things. They will be hard to part with... Someday.

9th hole, the signature. Elevated tees to tight fairway. Bombed it long over the fairway bunkers and had 155m left. Pin was in a hard spot, left back, small top tier, only metres from 2 bunkers. 7iron pure shot. Draw from middle of the green and landed on top tier 4ft right of the pin. 1 hop and spun backwards towards the hole, rolled 5 feet past. Birdie. That was the definition of dancing around the pin!

    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
