and that the holocaust never happened.

Yeah, I had a co-worker years ago try to convince me that the 6 million number was an exaggeration. Told her I found it very comforting to think that number might be closer to "only" 3 or 4 million innocent people murdered..

Which brings me to the theory that Hitler hadn't died in the bunker and that the Soviets had captured him alive.

Similarly, golf shops tack on 15yds to your driver distances to get you to buy them.

To bad this fails a bit because if you test your club as well it gets 15 yards :p

Fear of being killed off I suppose. Seems like you would be right but "accidents do happen" and it might be enough to keep people quiet.

Maybe, but I think I would feel safer as the guy who supplied the real photos of area 51, got that notoriety  and recognition vs  the guy who has the photos living an anonymous life in the burbs.

It's entirely possible that world governments know much more about aliens than they are letting on...

Because aliens would only reveal themselves to government officials...

I am not saying I believe in aliens.  I do believe it's a possibility though.  The universe is pretty big and our understanding of physics is not complete.

I wouldn't be surprised at all by extraterrestrial life.  I just don't think that the government has information about it that hasn't been shared with the rest of us yet...

Why not?  Do you believe our govt is interested in revealing everything they know to us regardless of consequences?

Not necessarily.  As I said before though, I just don't think that aliens would have only revealed themselves to, or been discovered by government officials interested in keeping the discovery to themselves...

So let's just say an alien craft crashes.  Who would feel okay venturing near and recovering and have the necessary equipment to clean it up and store it?

I know I wouldn't go near it.  Who would be called?

Also,  let's say you know you saw something real and decided to come out to reveal to everyone what you saw.  How would you be treated?

Theres noway to totally debunk alien believers.  Too many unexplained phenomena to debunk the deal.  Of course they would not selectively reveal themselves to govt only,  but govt is always involved in things of this nature.

99 percent of it all is crap but that annoying one percent remains.

They don't!  They also frequently reveal themselves to people living in the backwoods too.

Says the guy from California. Which I suppose begs the question, how could you possibly tell the difference if one showed up in that state?

I don't believe in them simply for the fact that people cannot keep secrets. That being said, the fun ones for me are the Illuminati and Priori of Sion because they have supposedly existed for centuries and bring in the Knights Templar and other major figures in history like Newton and Galileo, etc. These are beautifully crafted conspiracy theories like fine tapestries and are tough to disprove because the central characters are long dead.

These groups exist.  They might not have the power some say they do, but they exist in some form.  And they do have control over the financial and legal sectors.  People love power and money.  Combine the two and I believe it's not too difficult to see how our world is controlled by a network of powerful and ultra rich people.

I think too many people sort of believe in them a(and other plausible conspiracies), but are too afraid of ridicule to speak what they really think.

Mistletoe extract (aka Iscador) is, IIRC, more widely prescribed in many parts of Europe than Chemo. From what I understand, it has shown a higher success rate with far less side effects. The AMA is not, as of yet, on board with this. Not sure if that counts as a conspiracy or just slow to adopt.

We (North Americans) also keep destroying forests when we could transition to 100% hemp for all paper products and many textiles.

So why don't we?

    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
