My home course has a pretty good eatery attached to it. So good in fact, if I want a quick sandwich, I will go there just to eat sometimes.

When we have an early tee time we usually start the day off with breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and hash browns for $4 is not too bad. Breakfast sandwich for $2 sells well. Coffee is free.

Lunches are decent. Their food is  much better than the local fast food outlets. Their lunch menu goes far enough into the afternoon to work as an early dinner. $5 meals are the norm.

And of course the $7 pitchers of domestic beer works out to about $1.40 a glass. Sodas are $1.50. Bottled water is a $1.

Lot of locals go there just to eat. Place is quiet. A couple of big flat screen TVs are a plus. Good views of the course.

Just a nice place to hang out sometimes.

Very nice.   Most of the courses around me are just a quick grill for food and drink on the turn.   There are a couple that have a nice restaurant but they are pretty expensive.

Sounds pretty great! The course my men's league plays at makes a pretty mean burger and a serviceable (and cheap!) ribeye.

My home club has pretty good food, from burgers and sandwiches to proper dinners, with regular specials.  Reuben spring rolls and fried pickles are unreasonably good.

I should mention that when we get to Palm Springs each year, lots of the courses we play have REALLY good food.  Classic Club and Desert Willow specifically come to mind.

I have golfed at a few places with some great food. One of my regular courses (Memorial Park) has a Becks Prime that you can get to go at the turn...man that is a good burger.

Our club has alright food but no place has cheap beer around here but we have a great view.

I hardly ever have more than just a beer during a trip to the golf course, but last year my friend was famished after 18 and simply had to eat.

Kittyhawk's Fairway Inn actually made a pretty decent turkey club sandwich on that day. I may have to avail myself of more of their offerings this season.

I've found most golf course food to be below average and over priced! The places where I have found decent food and drink usually farm the operation out to a third party who knows what they are doing.

My home course has a excellent grill but closes at 7PM.  They make one of the best burgers I have ever had.

My course has a little bar called the Bear Trap. Its full of big screens, and if you buy a BT tumbler 30oz drafts are only $3. The food is really good as well. Great burgers, wraps, mexican food (this is New Mexico after all), and really good breakfast. I get 50% off food as an employee so a burger and fries costs me about $3. It's always full and dogs are welcome on the patio so we go there too much!

    • Day 335 - More putting work, with the focus on setup and hitting the sweet spot.
    • Day 153: putted for a while using the 2 cups drill inside. Working on bead primarily. Contact was really good.
    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
