Do you leave your clubs in your car all season long?

Just some info on heat. Out here in the lower parts of the Mojave Desert, 118*F plus for a few days is normal. The inside of a car, with the windows cracked open just  a little can reach 160*F plus in a matter of minutes. Inside the trunk will run 20-25 degrees hotter. I learned this while on jury duty. 

The bigger problem is that on some days it will not cooled down below a 100*F at night. I have seen several nights in the Vegas area where it was still 105*F at 4am, and started back up from there.

Folks who live in higher temp areas, but where it cools off a little at night, won't have as much problems with their clubs. It's a constent heat that does more damage in my opinion.

My Grandson and I went to a wrecking yard to get a part for his car. While getting the part, he also opened the trunk. In the trunk was a full bag of Titleist club. When paying for his car part he asked if they would sell him the clubs. They told him he could have them, since they were not in the golf club business. 

His first time out using them, 9 or 10 of the club heads either losened up, or came completely off. At the time the model of the set was not very old man. He had the whole set refurbished, and still uses them today. The pro shop that did the work, said the prolonged exposure to the heat was the problem.

Never leave them in the car (SUV) for the reasons stated above plus I wash them after each round and put them in the garage. Never thought about them being stolen from the garage but I don't think my wife would want them in the house, (we have enough clutter already). Plus for the next round I never know who is driving to the course so... Plus I leave my golf shoes by my clubs so I don't forget them, did that once, what a pain.

My little hatchback is fine for transporting but not daily storage. But even when I drove a larger car or truck, I seldom left them in the vehicle, except in my younger days when someone at work might yell, "Git yer sticks, honcho." -Marv 😎

I have always left my clubs in my trunk or the back area of my vehicle.  I have not experienced any heat or cold related problems or had them stolen.

@1badbadger & @Patch  Thanks for the posts.  Some good stuff there.  I always had a feeling stuff like that could happen.  Especially in the south.  Gets pretty hot in the summer.

I have a black car and I know how hot it gets in there.  Was 80* out the other day but when I hopped in for lunch, it was saying 100*... bet it was hotter in the trunk.

After a round I like to clean my clubs off and enjoy a Mango Margarita.  Clean the heads off, dry them, clean out the grooves and wipe down the grips.  Then they go in my living room and are ready to go for the next round.

I feel bad for the guys who have had their bags stolen.  I can't imaging loosing my clubs... that would suck.

Great line.  I use to have a baseball, football, frisbee, hackey sack and a whiffle ball n bat in my trunk for similar issues.  Was great for lunch break as we could do just about anything.

I take them in the house all the time ----- to clean charge gps put used balls in a bag and get a few new ones........

I don't leave them in my car over night.

I picked option 3, but cost is only a part of it. I treat my vintage clubs the same way. A few years ago, I did put together a knock-around set to leave in the car, but wound up keeping them inside as well. Bringing your clubs inside does wonders for grip life. My hybrids have the original grips. They do need replacing from wear, but are still soft.

Nope.

A) My car is currently a Peugeot 206. Way too small to fit a bag of clubs.

B) Even though i park on my drive and i live in a quiet area it would be sods law some bell-end would break into my car and nick them.

I understand the concept of someone breaking into your car and stealing your clubs but have never hear sods law and bell-end.

During the golf season i keep my clubs in the car most of the time. The trunk of my car is more or less my locker room. Even when i was a member at private clubs, i hardly ever went into the clubhouse. But during the winter months, they're only in there if i plan to be using them that day.

Sods law - Also known as Murphy's Law (If it can happen it will happen). Another way of saying "it would be just my luck someone would break into my car on the one occasion i leave them in the boot/trunk"

Bell-end - An insult we like over here (a variation of using knob as an insult). Also part of the male anatomy.
