Slightly off topic but if you remember any of the names of the pizza places you went to I'd love to hear them. The wife and I will be spending 3 nights in Rome and 3 nights in Naples in September and would love pizza recommendations.

I've only had egg on breakfast pizza and I liked it. I'd definitely be willing to try it on regular pizza too though, it sounds good.

Naples: 50 Kalo, L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, Gino E Toto Sorbillo

Rome: Da Michele.

Word of warning: prepare for queues. Maybe September is better than when we went there, but some waiting must be expected.

Also, plan the visits ahead of going there and make sure you find the correct places. There are many pizzerias called Sorbillo or Da Michele.

Nice little Italian place in Frankfort, IL I visit when I go to our IL office -- Francesca's -- has one on their menu; it was the the first I tried, and I really like it.  They bring the pizza piping out of the brick-oven to your table, then crack the egg over it table-side, and the high-temp of the pizza cooks the egg a bit.

Our local Pyro's has a pizza on their menu called "Denver style", with an egg broken and cooked on top.  I get that one sometimes, too.

I have put dim sum leftovers on pizza. Recently put Chinese meatballs on it. Meh, that wasn't very good. I think the latest faze is gyro meat on a pizza. Always experimenting. I saw Philly Cheese Steak on a pizza.

Where do you draw the line? I tend to think salty, savory and sometimes sweet on pizzas.

I draw the line on the pizza itself with a pizza cutter, usually three or four times depending on the size of the pie 😉

It's basically flatbread with a drier dough, you can put whatever you want on it IMO.

I don't bother cutting it. Just spin it and take a bite.:-P

We're getting individual pies if we ever go out for pizza.

Here in Europe a pizza with egg on it is nothing special. I for myself don’t like it.

Egg on pizza > pineapple on pizza.

Not uncommon to have eggs with noodles - see ramen. Ajitsuke Tamago is awesome.

Of course, as I look on YouTube, I've forgotten "breakfast pizza," but I was specifically NOT talking about that. I was talking about regular "dinner" style pizza.

Now since we are talking about dinner-style pizza? I have not but have seen it done. Most people don't realize that a pizza is an open face sandwich. So you could put whatever the hell you want on it.

Breakfast pizza in my opinion is just an omelet on pizza dough. But sure if you wanted a boburger on a pizza I suppose one could do it.

D.P. Dough here in Ithaca makes a Wakin' Bacon 'Zone but that is scrambled eggs.

I was on a business trip in Colmar, France a few years ago. Coworkers and I were at an outside pizza cafe struggling with our translation apps to figure out the menu. I ordered a pizza thinking I knew what I was ordering and a pizza showed up with a sunny side up egg in the middle. Oh well, part of the adventure of traveling. It was actually pretty good.

Side story- after we ate we were walking around the old town section and a 3 wheel bike passed us with a PIZZA HUT banner. Stopped in front of a boutique hotel and we could hear a shrill American voice yell "The pizza's here". Disgusting. Dozens of cafes all around them, and they order PIZZA HUT. No wonder our reputation sucks.

It's a shirred egg...with a pizza under it.

    • Day 139: worked on putting for a while. Did the two cups drill for bead.
    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
