Well, that frees up my Sunday.

Yeah...such a shame. I know it’s a great accomplishment for the kid... but come on....just turned Sunday into a snoozer.

I'm glad he missed it.  He's just getting over a neck problem.  If he had to play who knows how many extra holes today, plus maybe another 36 tomorrow, he could easily have torpedoed his chances in the Masters.  This way, he had a very positive week, a T5 in a strong field, and he can take tomorrow off and then prep for Augusta.

Until April....

Eh, it lasted about 5 minutes....

That bomb for eagle and then the cold blooded birdie on 17 after Tiger had stuffed it were just too tough.

Kind of felt the same. And there’s no “maybe 36 tomorrow.” If he would have won, he would have to play 36 tomorrow. There’s a consolation match for 3rd and 4th.

He's dead to me.

You don't believe that....I don't believe you mean that.    What until the Masters!

then again, he could be like the Detroit Lions.... even before the season starts their fans say "Wait until next year!"

You don't play 36 if you win or lose 5&4 or something.

Tiger missed a few short putts in the afternoon.  Not a good sign going into Masters...

I don’t know. He played a lot of close golf today that is no doubt mentally draining. I can see a few misses coming from a day like today. I was wondering on some of the misses as well though. Especially that last one.

He used to never miss putts like that. It’s like you can see that slight bit of doubt that never showed from 97-08.

But, giving due credit, the kid (can’t spell his name) was a rock.

Haha good point. We’ll say likely between say 30-36 tomorrow.

A myth. He missed his fair share of putts like that.

Tiger played well. That last putt isn’t any indication of how he’s putting. He otherwise performed pretty damn well. Beer Garden poured in that 30’ for eagle so he had his share of luck as well.

He putted pretty well overall. Made a lot of big ones. The 52yard pitch into the bunker is what really hurt him. The announcers cursed him as well!! lol. Hats off to the other guy. Draining that eagle on 16 and the birdie on 17 was tough as a TW fan

He may have intentionally tugged that last putt. LaCava prolly whispered in his ear “Make this, Boss, and we play at least one more hole and maybe 36 more tomorrow.” Tiger may have gotten a stinger down his neck that very moment.

All jokes aside, while I know he wanted to win, I think he won’t mind a day of rest. He got a T5 which should move him up the WGR a spot, maybe two.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
