Tiger played well. That last putt isn’t any indication of how he’s putting. He otherwise performed pretty damn well. Beer Garden poured in that 30’ for eagle so he had his share of luck as well.

True that. The way Beer Garden's putt hooked left toward the end you couldn't blame Tiger for thinking his put in the opposite direction might move a little right. And it's not like he blasted it through the break.

My question is how did the Kuchar/Garcia match turn out? I was hoping Kuch would crush that whiny creep's skull, but it seemed like Sergio was trying to make a comeback. The network signed off and I don't get GC.

Kuchar won 2 up. Poor Sergio back at his antics. It seems he's reverted back to his whiny woe is me attitude. Too bad. He was improving but it seems his becoming a father/husband as actually worsened him.

Damn odds changed overnight. Molinari went from 33-1 to 20-1. Also, Kisner looked like the value of the century at 150-1. He dropped to 100-1. The way Oosthuizen is swinging, 33-1 on him doesn't look bad.

You know what I really enjoyed about this tournament? Seeing drives roll out down the fairways! This is a phenomenon that will be unfamiliar to local golfers for at least another month!

Had to be the most boring final day event of the year. Slower than slow. NBC must have been disappointed to see what the final pairings were today. I would guess viewership was way down in the USA. Probably did well in Denmark, though.😉

I get why they changed the format and I like it, but I feel like it also knocks out more of the bigger names for the weekend. The old way I feel like got better final 4 matchups. This format you get more upsets.

I don’t think that’s accurate.

One bad day and they’d be out before. Now they have three matches minimum.

My thoughts on the event as a viewing spectacle.

Overall the viewing on the first three days, even the forth day was great. Plenty of action, with coverage jumping from match to match.

Whereas the last day was underwhelming, regardless of who was playing, covering only 2 matches for a whole day makes for dull viewing. Not helped by pretty lacklustre golf on the day.

I agree. Wan't very exciting final match or consolation match for that matter. The crowd at the event sure got smaller from Saturday to Sunday. I wonder if it was the weather or no Tiger?

I'm glad he missed it.  He's just getting over a neck problem.  If he had to play who knows how many extra holes today, plus maybe another 36 tomorrow, he could easily have torpedoed his chances in the Masters.  This way, he had a very positive week, a T5 in a strong field, and he can take tomorrow off and then prep for Augusta.

My friend and i both thought as we were watching it that tiger was going to miss that putt on purpose. He played well that match but it just didn't look like he wanted to be out there. I don't think he wanted to come back for another 36 holes if he ended up winning.

While I have no idea what goes on in Tiger's mind, I would like to think that if he entered the tournament, he is trying to win it.  So I don't think he missed that putt on purpose.  He missed another short putt on the same match.  I don't remember which hole, 7th hole or thereabout perhaps?

I don't remember. And this inneration of Tiger does miss alot of short pressure putts. But his body language seemed like it was that of a 40+ year old dude that didn't want to be out in the cold 😂

Now the only way Tiger can lose is if he throws it?

Good grief!

He sounded in his interview like he wanted it pretty bad. Unless he put on one heck of a poker face, I think he wanted to win. However, it may have been for the best he lost and I do think there’s a part of him that realizes another 30+ holes woulda been a challenge on the body especially with Augusta less than two weeks away.

I thought the same. Having to potentially play 6 or 7 rounds of golf in 5 days probably wouldn't have been the best for him. Who knows if he was actually glad if he lost or not, just felt that way to me. 30 year old tiger probably would have set the clubhouse on fire. But 40 yr old tiger is probably thinking about Augusta in two weeks.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
