Sure did, as another posted stated in another thread.Β  People died to give us this right, I don't take the responsibility lightly.

I have a mail-in ballot but LOVE the experience of going to the actual polls.Β  Leaving work now, picking up a quick dinner, and then we are all walking down to the elementary school to stand in line and vote.Β  I will just turn in my ballot, and then my wife and son will go fill out hers.

This day should be a holiday.

(I didn't vote in the poll because technically I have not voted yet)

15 out of the 19 things I voted for, won. Some of my candidates and propositions lost. You can't win them all. ;-)

Didn't people always have the right to vote in the US or was it only land owners? When did that change?

Edit: Anyhoo - as a Canadian , I see people who are undecided, as a lot of people are when either outcome will have virtually no effect on their daily life and their riding is a lock for a certain party, so why is it seen as honourable to flip a coin and sway the outcome a fraction of a percentage point in either direction. We need to get over ourselves (here). Make a difference and take advantage of our freedom, by making positive changes by doing more than filling out a ballot.

I voted yesterday (but answered this poll on Wednesday...). I'm in a state where the presidential election was all but guaranteed to go opposite to my wishes (FiveThirtyEightblog put it at 100%), but you still have to do what you can...

Usually takes me 10 minutes. Used the old machines last election, pull lever, toggle switches, pull lever. This year, new method - electronic balloting. 2 hours, but nothing like 8. My state is solid, solid blue though. Interesting to see people from your neighborhood whom you'd never see all in one place. Overheard a couple of precocious kids barely into their teens eloquently parroting the cable pundits. Scary. Too bad they had no real idea what they were saying :-)

My son just turned 18 and he got to vote for the first time. Β We got new machines 8 years ago. Β It never takes more than 10 minutes to vote. Β It is at a local elementary school and they also sell cookies and stuff to raise money. Β I always buy my "Election Dessert" every year.

I voted, and also dragged my indifferent neighbor to the polls as well, even though I knew he would negate my vote and vote against his better interests. He is a work in progess and I will continue to work on him to see the light.
