What does them being a new tour have anything to do with shooting low scores being a problem?

As for Tiger, the reason they show him & talk about him is he draws viewers which sells commercials.  Here’s the thing, Tiger 16 behind the leaders draws more viewers than all of LIV.

With Rahm heading over they need to get a  better deal with a  major  network.  Scheffler is a legit star. Thomas and Speith are  both soft. I would  love to see  Rahm, Koepka, and Dustin Johnson finish in the top 5 at the  Masters.

And how is any of your comment related to my post that you quoted?

Nothing. @jxdama is a cartoon.

Spieth is more popular than Scottie (or Rahm). And Rahm to LIV is not a done deal (yet?), so his comments are at best premature.

The move to sign the reigning Masters champion comes as the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund face a Dec. 31 deadline to join forces

You might think this means the deal is done, but it also says: "A deal for Rahm is expected to be announced this week, people familiar with the matter said, assuming talks don’t fall apart."

IMO, if deal is done, it's a pretty big one. He's probably the best combination of popular/currently-competitive player to make the move so far.

Gives PIF more negotiating power.

I think he might be betting on the merger. Then he gets to have his cake and eat it too.

Still not watching LIV.

Same, ^^^. Just can't get excited to see the same guys, for the most part, play every tournament.  And not seeing Patrick Reed play golf, is a plus.

Maybe I'm officially an old fart.

I don't like the shotgun format. I also kind of feel like the announcers are "trying too hard" if that makes sense. In terms of trying too hard, I feel the same way about the teams thing. That really feels forced to me.

Don't get me started on the flash mob.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Have to say this has been an interesting week of news tid bits....just saying.   Is this the next step toward to a new face of professional golf?  With the supsected leaving of Jon Rahm to LIV, the ball rollback that is to begin in 2028, Tiger "managing" another return (for how long) - makes me wonder if there were similiar rumblings within golf when Tiger came on the scene in the late '90's, drivers were suddenly made of metal and ballooned to 460cc, grooves were redifined....just pondering.

I'll now actively root against Jon Rahm.

Which, let's be honest, will be like 4x a year, because I'm not going to watch LIV crap.

    • I'll poke a dead horse here. I like chipping, always have. However, if its a relatively clean roll I'll putt. I choke down just a bit, in my head I'm taking a little flex out of the shaft seems to stay on line better because I usually need to give it some horsepower to get it rolling good. I had about a 20 yard or so chip in to save par the other night in league night. That was the end of my 4 hole even par stretch. All down hill after that.
    • This is legit fantastic. Love these guys   https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLgcoR9v/
    • This is a relevant topic, beyond the statistical nonsense. Generally, if I can use a putter and the grass is not long or uneven, I believe my results are better with the putter than another club.  Some of the green aprons, when dry, are virtually like a slightly slower green. There are other players who swear they get better results chipping from eerywhere other than the green. I suspect a short game guru has studied this and has a general recommendation.
