I don't mind being out in the cold. I'm happy to shovel in shifts and take it easy on my old back.

If I miss the opportunity to shovel in shifts and too much of it collects that's when I use the snow blower.

I know you’re joking, but that would be really easy to do if I actually wanted to spend all day outside in the cold.

My favorite is after you’ve shoveled for three hours, you wake up to a fresh two inches from the “snow showers” overnight.

Typically here in Ohio, our first dose is going to be the wet transition stuff. Anything after that will be the powdery stuff that is a lot less of a problem. If we can avoid ice, a  little bit of dust isn't going to bother me much.

Well boys and girls, keep those snow shovels at the ready. Punxsutawney Phil just said there will be six more weeks of winter.

I can't believe that he's still a thing.   It's 6 weeks either way!   Just tell me when it's golf time!

So, wait, he saw his shadow so we get 6 more weeks of winter. So winter will be over on March 15th???

If he didn't see his shadow we'd have an early spring??? What does that mean? For many folks March 15th is an early spring.

BTW - Did you see all the PETA people complaining about Punxsutawney Phil? They are asking for demanding we switch to an animatronic groundhog. 😝

Promise a big enough donation and maybe you'd get a PETA person to pop out of the hole.

It’s always golf time. Just need the proper footwear, spikes snowshoe, or in Western WA a kayak. Switching to a tennis ball is optional.

If PETA agrees to that, can we play "Whack the Mole" with them? whack-a-mole-pic.jpg

Maybe for the first time ever.

After all, you wouldn't be hitting a poor woodchuck or whatever that thing is.

One of my best purchases was a really nice snow blower, at 66 it’s a life saver.

I've always done all at once.  Just go out once and get it all done.

Depends on the size of the snow storm. If it is like 1-4", then I will wait. If it's more than that, I will try to do two snow shoveling. So, most of the time its just one time. A lot of time, I just let it sit in the driveway and melt.

    • No one is telling him what to be offended by. This makes no sense.
    • Did you wake up feeling a bit nausea this morning Scott? Sab damn near pulled it off with a remarkable final round. After Shaf's drive on 18, I'm like Holly Shit ...
    • New irons. I will probably swap out the 4 with a CB utility iron as things get cooler here, but so far I really like them.
    • Congrats to Schauffele! May not be a major but it ranks high on the list of a golfers resume. It does with me anyway.....
    • Mine was my mother.  She was a very angry person with a temper.   Golf was not her game.  She took it up to spend time with me when I was a teenager, after I started playing when I was a caddie. she had a violent, slashing swing.   Her clubs were a set of old MacGregor blades and she would hit the 2-iron a lot off the tee.   It would go far, but rarely where she wanted.  Seriously, it was like some type of hockey motion. she was easily frustrated and had zero short game.  She would ping pong back and forth across the green because her chipping miss was blading the ball.  She’d get mad, start swearing and sometimes take 4 chips/pitches around the green.  Several times I’d have to apologize because she’d get mad and swear so much.  If she was in a bunker, forget it.  Just run! Her main quirk was water though.   It could be a lake or a 2 foot wide stream in front of her.  She’d find it.   We were in Myrtle Beach at Wild Wing Hummingbird years ago and there is a creek hat winds through.  She was about 20 feet in front of he creek that was only a couple of feet deep in front of her.  Sure enough, she topped it and it went in the creek, carried away by the current.   She was super pissed and I couldn’t stop laughing.   We didn’t talk for most of the rest of the day.
