He looks a little ... weird walking. Don't know exactly how to describe it.

I would say he’s pacing himself when he walks. He’s not limping, but not walking too fast.

A lot of golf left today, but Cam Smith is looking really good.

Whoops, jinxed Cam there. Sorry. Although a -4 with 2 doubles is pretty impressive.

Damn I'm actually getting misty. That massive phew he let out after the last putt, the cheering, people high fiving each other.

I sensed a micro limp on the walk up to 18th green to check the pin before hitting his pitch. I don't think a limp is necessarily a huge hinderance anyway.

Him playing competitive again is a very pleasant surprise but turning in an under par round for his first is just impressive even if Augusta bit soft today.

That is not the course to walk drunk. Imagine if you fell down going down #10, you could be rolling downhill for like 150 yards.

I doubt he drank all of those. Plus, pop comes in those same things, too.

People would throw them out and I'd take them if they looked pretty clean. I have about 20 here at home now.

At least the guy was protected from rolling into the pond on #12.  Because spectators can't even get close to the green/pond.

I really dislike Paul McGinley.  Even Brandel is getting irritated by him.  He looks like he'd like to Will Smith him.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

What the hell happened to Keopka on the back 9? -2 on front. +5 on back. +3 round. That iron into 18 had some bad spin. From tap in par to an impossible up 20 footer.

If the glasses said Augusta or Masters on them I get taking them.  If not, aren't they just generic plastic cups that can easily be purchased for a few cents or so

Tiger (and all other later starters today) get the worst of the wind by far.

    • If you got space for it, a hitting net is also a good option that allows you to hit real balls. I do most of my full swing practice on a net st home these days. I find it very valuable to hit balls. I can do something different in ten rehersal swings and on the next full swing just do my normal swing. Muscle memory and having done something thousands of time is difficult to overcome. A combination of slow swings, testing new feelings and full swings is better than only swinging without a club. The better players and instructors can probably get more value out of swinging without hitting anything.
    • Detry making some good length putts today. Defying probability with a pretty good round. +4.3 strokes gained putting. Not sure this is sustainable.  Nicolas Echavarria, leading the field with +3.72 AVG strokes gained approach. He is -2.51 strokes gained putting.  Right now, I would put money on Aberg, Top 10 strokes gained putting, top 5 strokes gained approach and leading in strokes gained off the tee.  Rory's putter needs to heat up. Another all-around good play is Tony Finau, +1 to +2 strokes gained in putting, approach, around the green and off the tee.  Live Tournament Stats - U.S. Open Live strokes gained and traditional statistics from every round of this week’s PGA Tour event in a customizable table.
    • Day 589, June 14, 2024 Played at Kahkwa Club today. I hit some really good shots, and some really bad ones, particularly warming up. I wasn't really in it but should have been. Dumb.
    • Yeah, I would think balls not grabbing on these greens = defensive golf. On another note, I seem to have jinxed Scheffler and  Kentucky has declared a statewide national holiday in celebration. Groan.
