I have a golf outing with some buddies to Florida in a few weeks.  Then pulling out the bowling ball until the northeast thaw.

I don't want to be an a$$hole, but down here in south Louisiana it's currently 77#.   Our problem has been and will be rain. it's been raining 2-3 days a week for the last 2-3 months, with some heavy downpours. The course  at my club was made in an old sugar cane field and doesn't drain very well, so keeping the course playable can be a problem for the grounds crew. Barring excessive rain, we can usually play year 'round.

Oh, so many choices!

Now you're just being cruel.

I'm taking a day off at the end of the month to run a couple errands with hopes of squeezing in one more round. That's beginning to look overly optimistic.

I desperately need a winter activity... I mean other than losing golf balls in the snow. I have to get back into cross country skiing or something I can only enjoy in the winter. It really makes the time go by faster.

Cross country skiing? Now that will keep you in shape!

I think the expression “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” applies to me doing any kind of cardio workout.

My brother just got back from Louisiana a week ago. First day he was here it was almost 90 degrees. Two days later it was a high of 55 with rain. Welcome back to Ohio.

Played Monday. I have a 9AM tee time tomorrow. Hope the weather holds for a few more weeks. Years ago we had a Halloween snow storm dump more than 15" on us! Didn't melt until late April! First golf outing that Spring was about mid-May! I hope that never happens again.

Yesterday in mid-Michigan was a great day to play.   We had sunshine, very little wind and the temperature was around mid 50s.   It may have been the last day of golf for me.   I'm a fair weather golfer.

Rain and 40° thwarted my chances for golf today and the rest of the week looks poor for a game as well.

Yeah, if you don't like the weather in Louisiana, just wait. It will change.. The good new is that the average low temperature in Dec-Jan is usually somewhere around 40#. When Gebruary ets here, Spring is just around the corner.

Your brother must have been somewhere in North Louisiana for it to get down to 55# in October.

Ragin... are you by any chance on your third Corpse Reviver by now?

Weather has been holding here in MI. Looks like I might be able to get out comfortably into November. Really has been a great season, very grateful.

Amen.  I have done the Top Golf experience in San Antonio.  Fairly certain I won't make to drive to the east side to relive the moment. But everyone needs to do it once.  😉

The real question is whether we will be teeing it up in December.

Temps are colder than average here and windy as hell. However today is not windy but the ground is frozen so the course is delayed... At least until the wintery mix comes in this morning...

I played Thursday, it was cold and 15-20 mph winds. Rather difficult conditions. Snow was better than rain...

If the Edison location is any indication, they blast the heaters, so there's that.

    • Played Sunday and implemented the Mayo spinner. Hit my second shot long and left on three to a bare lie. I have seen this shot to a tucked pin but I don’t swing across it enough and hit it too far with a ton of spin but it rolled into the bunker. I pulled my approach short and left on ten to a horrible lie with about 3’ of rise to a tucked pin maybe 5’ on the green. Ball is in a damp lie with debris behind and in front of the ball. Hit it to 3.5’ but horseshoed the putt around the right edge, which was a common miss. I hooked my tee shot into an unplayable lie in the hazard on the left side of the par 5 16th. Hit a great recovery that rolled to about 45 yards short of the back right pin. Hit the spinner over a bumpy green that rolled just over the ridge to 3’. Sank the straight 2.5’ putt. Felt like I had good control of these shots!
