I didn't knew that Chris know about 5SK - what a great argument to promote the clinic down here, right @iacas? - but I would like to ask this, to a tour player and someone like Tiger, let's just suppose that Chris only knew about 5SK, what Keys would be the one a tour pro should focus?

4 and 5. I'd imagine with Tiger a lot more 4 than 5.

Sometimes 3 (particularly if they over-do it and have too much shaft lean, i.e. it lines up too late), sometimes even 1 and 2. Those times are pretty rare.

It was implied that Como would not be mentioning 5SK publicly any time soon - why is that?

I imagine that everyone involved wants to avoid the circus that was created when Foley came on board and everyone started freaking out about the evils of SnT. Obviously 5sk is NOT and never has been SnT but many people seem to have problems grasping that.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Woods’ decision won immediate praise from one member of the PGA Tour community. “I’m a big Chris Como fan,” Brad Faxon said. “I think what he’s got, the first positive, is that he’s a kind of relaxed nerd – and I think he’d take that as a compliment. He’s friendly; he’s outgoing.

“He knows more about the technical parts of the swing, parts you might just glaze over, but he makes it applicable so that you know how to do it.”

Faxon said he has spent a lot of time talking with Como and respects him greatly. “He works a lot with Grant Waite and a guy named Dana Dahlquist (of Southern California). They teach guys like Charles Howell and Trevor Immelman. They’ve all kind of evolved out of the Mac O’Grady ’stack and tilt’ camp.”

Looks like Tiger got a good guy to take a look at his swing Hopefully he can regain some of his former self. Golf always seems to do better when Tiger is in contention.

I have no knowledge of the guy, but I hope he'll do well. I'm happy Tiger got a coach and isn't going at it alone.

Can anyone confirm or deny that Como prefers a laid off A4, or bowed wrist?

I already did (deny). I can ask him but I imagine he's a bit swamped right now.

Let's look at Tiger's swing at his tournament here soon, mmmmmmkay? Only a month in, but I don't expect most to see big changes to the swing itself.

Well, I thought when Tiger and Foley hooked up they were going to dominate together. So, I hope that Chris can have some success with Tiger. It is really hard to tell if Tiger is a easy person to teach. I suspect not. I think in his early years with Butch he was but now he may not be. This is the big challenge that Chris faces in my opinion. Getting Tiger to focus and work on the key pieces. When Tiger is focused on a plan is when he is at his best.

Also, Tiger is both  bit older, and I'm guessing the back injury will always be in the back of his mind, hoping it doesn't return under  the rigors of PGA play..I wish him all the best, and hope he gets to the top of the leader board soon.

Sorry, I read right past that... C'mon Erik, you know me when it comes to Tiger. My panties are twisted so far in a bunch they'll never get unraveled. As to Foley, what I heard is that his knowledge is wide but not deep.

I guess Notah is Tiger's life coach. He needs someone.

Good luck to Chris Como ... and Tiger.

http://www.golfdigest.com/blogs/the-loop/2014/11/tiger-woods-chris-como-golf-world.html Quote: That's when Begay met him. Como spent his first 16 years as a coach working as an intern at the David Leadbetter Academy, spending time with Hank Haney and going through a Mac O'Grady MORAD program, but it was a less famous group of instructors and ultimately professors who were more influential. To Como, it's all about using the science, using the teaching and always searching for ways to make the golfer autonomous. "The idea of having a person rely on a teacher is bad," Como said. "You have to know about yourself, rely on yourself."

Yes, this annoys me but I can't pinpoint exactly why. I think it's because of Notah's commentating roles and for some reason, it feels like a conflict of interest that he is so invested in one player. Everyone knows it including his co-workers so there is something almost disingenuous about his participation in the broadcast. I dunno, probably my own quirk but for some reason it rubs me the wrong way.

I used to look for instances when Notah did broadcasts and Tiger was playing that showed favoritism or even the opposite and I found him to be very professional and neutral. If one didn't know they were buds all the way back to Stanford, I don't you'd think there was any special treatment of Tiger from Notah as a broadcaster. There's lots of TV announcers I can think of who are far more biased for or against a team they played for.

    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
