How would you rank these?

I'm debating what to spend my money on so I figured I'd probe the Sand Trap for your input.

If I had all the money I needed, I'd buy the following... (in no particular order):

pull cart (would like to walk more courses next year)

rangefinder (would help make practice time more meaningful, yardage markers at the driving range are not really reliable)

new irons (to replace my beginner Acuity boxed set I bought at dicks a few years ago)

new golf bag (currently lugging around a rather beat up, heavy, leather bag)

golf swing analyzer (like the optishot or one of the gadgets that attach to your club)

high speed camera, minimum 100 fps with relatively fast shutter speed.

I'm asking the community to rank these highest to lowest in terms of what you think is the most helpful. Feel free to add to this list.

1...get a good high speed camera.

2..you din't list this, but. Get an evolver account, to help with your game.

thanks, the idea of a camera was with evolvr in the back of my mind. or at least to garuntee that if/when i take some lessons that the video analysis will be crisp.

got a "my swing" thread already... but lets face it... my iphone hasn't really been up to the task.

I realize that a lot of the guys on here are big into the high speed cameras, but I would not consider them super high on the priority list. I worked with Evolvr for two years - 100% exclusively on a "slow" iphone - and never once had a problem. I'd go: Irons Rangefinder Bag (Push) Cart Evolvr Camera And I'd skip the analyzer altogether and put that money straight towards Evolvr as well because it's easier to be a stupid monkey when you aren't getting too involved in stuff.

Almost everyone walks where I live and 95% of the more fanatic players got a rangefinder. Nice things to have, but you don't need them to play better, you can do without. I would go for new clubs. The new bag and the high speed camera would not be on my list at all.

Forget pull carts . Get a Clicgear push cart.

Get a modern, lightweight bag to put on it.

Do NOT even consider a useless golf swing analyzer.

A rangefinder is useful.

Camera is worth having but not just for golf.

+1 on this. I've had an Evolvr account for about a year and whereas I don't put in the effort I should, my Samsung phone camera has never been an issue.

@divot dave , I was going to make a list, but I agree with Drew so I'll just quote his. I use a 60fps DSLR and it hasn't hurt my analysis. I'd skip the analyzer as well, if you can afford evolvr. Self-analysis is not a path I'd suggest to anyone, and I'm a notorious self-analyzer. Normally I wouldn't put new irons up so high, but there's not much to those beginner sets. You'd probably see some improvement just from switching to something with a little more technology designed in it. Get rid of that old bag; modern bags are lighter and have more compartments. I use a cart bag with my pull cart, but if you want to carry every once in a while, get a stand bag. I like my pull cart, but I'm in the minority. A lot of people tout the benefits of a push cart, so I recommend getting one of those. Rangefinder is self explanatory. Get one.

Last year I would have said High Speed Camera first, but GDaddy is absolutely right, unless you're working on some really fine grade pieces regular 60fps  is fine as long as you can slow it down with Anaylzer or even just some basic movie editing software that probably came free with your computer.

Assuming you have some kind of camera already (iphone?) just get a decent tripod and you're set.

1. Sparkly new Irons
2. Good lightweight standbag
3. Rangefinder
4. pull-push cart (although since getting a lightweight standbag I never bother with my cart anymore so you might want to reconsider)
5. Agree with Shorty, don't bother with the gizmos, they won't identify your priority nor will they tell you how to address whatever issues it does identify. Maybe get a Game Golf instead, they look like fun.

I would put Evolvr ahead of all those other things though...

1. Irons 2. Bag: cart bag if you're getting the push cart for sure. You won't want to carry again. Plus cart bags work nicer in carts. 3. Push cart: I recommend the sun mountain micro cart 4. Range finder 5. Use your cell phone for video unless you need one for other reasons 6. Use tax return in the spring for a lesson plan.

1) Irons - do yourself a favor - get fit for a nice set. Try them all.

2) Bag - Datrek makes a 14 slot lightweight bag that fits nicely on a

3) lightweight Clicgear cart.

4) Bushnell Z6 Jolt or Leupold equivalent.

5) I have a Galaxy S5 that takes nice vids at 120 fps and has a steady cam setting. My first vid was taken on a Nokia.

6) If you have money left over you make a lot more than I do.

1. New, "fitted" irons. Irons that can be adjusted as needed with out having to send  them back to the factory.

2. A push cart. Not a pull cart. Clic Gear is good. I have the original model, and it has lasted quite well. Thing is indestructible. Even the tires stay aired up.

3. Unless totally unusable, keep the leather bag, as it has character.

4. Range finder.

5. Camera.

Some where in there I"d get some swing instruction from a qualified instructor. Preferably from the same person who fitted your clubs.

Another vote for skipping the golf gadgets, especially if you're going to get a camera. If you wanted to really analyze your swing and you have a Mac, get Analyzr

Additional use for rangefinder = charting partial wedges. If you're a bit of a mechanic on your swing, the rangefinder can be very useful in charting your matrix for partial wedge shots.

Take a half-dozen of the model of balls you play on the course. Go to an area of the practice range where you can use your own balls, , and find your average distance on quarter, half, 3/4 and full wedge shots for different wedges. Use your bag beside the hitting area as a known point, and shoot back to the bag to get your yardage on each shot.

If you find an unusual distance gap two days in a row, you might need to increase or decrease the loft of one or more wedges.
