Been playing too much lately and my course was closed due to rain so I took a little break and right before sun down I practiced my putting stroke and my chipping in my back yard. Big tournament tomorrow so hoping to do well!

Currently working on getting my driver ball position more neutral, back a bit from where it is now.

My ball position with driver gets too far forward and then my shoulders open up leading to pulls and big fades.

I've been doing minimum of 5 min. a day.  Somehow I am now pushing, straight push, with my driver.

I think it's my setup.  I will keep doing this until I get it nailed down.

I do at least 15 mins every day after kids go down. I hit Dixie cups to feel somewhat of a real strike in the family room.

More drill with the punisher yesterday.   I need to keep it up with the drill to ingrain it in my swing routine.  One more month of daily practice and I think I won't be flipping.   Flipping is for dolphins but not for golfers. :naughty:

I was able to get some decent practice in yesterday at my wife's grandmother's house for Easter. Did some reps for full swing work and used the yard for pitching practice. It didn't take too long to get the right feel back, and I had forgotten that I had a high flop in my repertoire that I could have used last round. I miss having a decent yard for short game practice.

Might not get to do my 5 minutes today. Been fighting a bout of food poisoning all day. Maybe I'll just work on the putting stroke or something.

Also had my 10 minutes al home, trying to start my BS with the club in the right position, not far behind me. The bad sensation when I do this, is on the DS, where I feel to have the club too steep, but maybe it´s a wrong sensation...

Finished up my taxes and then did five minutes in the hallway with a wedge. Did a lot of slow-motion transition work. Found a subtle change to a feel I like and plan to put into practice later today when I head downtown.

Worked on some slow feels last night.  Worked on it a bit this morning as well.  I will put a video and some notes up in my swing thread.

After today's round, I decided to switch gears to practicing my pitching. I think I have a good idea on what's going on, and I'm going to keep practicing it everyday until I don't have to think about it anymore.

Everything we've seen and heard from Augusta National says you're about nine weeks behind the times with that. :)

I've been doing mirror work with a 5i for a few minutes a day in conjunction with my lessons for the last two months or so (not every day, but close). Being able to see what's going on has been invaluable in developing the feel of certain movements/positions.

Most recently I've been working on keeping my weight back. Formerly my hips would move toward the ball during the downswing causing me to get all bunched up at impact. This stopped my hips from rotating, and would cause my arms to flip through the swing since my body basically stopped turning.

Next up is getting my shoulders to rotate a little more around my spine rather than just tilting up as I come into the ball. I'm working on getting the feel of having the left shoulder coming around (rather than being pulled towar my ear) without also pulling the swing path sharply left.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
