Shot a 43 in my League yesterday.  Had a good round going through the first 4 holes, but hit a poor iron shot and lost the ball on the 5th hole which led to a Double.  Doubled the next hole too.  Got back on track for the last 3 holes though.

4 Pars

3 Bogeys

2 Doubles

Four of us played today. Just a fun time with friends. Even got the cart girl involved in some of our shenanigans. Luckily it was not my credit card number on file at the 19th. (this time) Of course we all settled up after our 5 hour round. The cart girl made out quite well too.

Oh yeah. I shot one the best 86s that I  can remember. Finished 3rd in our group, but I think two of the other guys cheated. I think they were using their SoCal version of the Texas foot wedge.  Plus I am still trying to figure out how the cart gal can win a $40 skin for being closest to the hole.

Won't get back out till next Tuesday after the holiday weekend warriors clear out.

Have a safe holiday weekend, and play well.

Total newbie here, both to the sport and the site.

Last time I played was Saturday, shot 47 on a 9-hole par 3. Was actually the best I've ever played - as I said, I'm very new to golf and I literally never go through 9 holes without having a complete swing meltdown and forgetting how to play at some point, but not this time. The only really bad moment was taking 4 shots to get out of a bunker, but I'm actually not too bothered about that - bunker shots are simply a technique I don't really know yet, you can't work on everything at once and there are more important aspects of the game to focus on at this stage of my development. Like not getting into bunkers in the first place...

Played with a mate who is not brilliant but definitely more comfortable around the course than me. My two aims for the round were to par at least one hole; and to beat him on at least one hole. In the event I parred one (would also have parred the first if I'd given myself a Mulligan off the tee) and beat him on 4 out of 9 holes. And kept in touch with him right until the final hole - he had a bit of a shocker, but still. He only beat me by 2 shots which I'll take given he's been playing many more years than me.

Played well at Washtenaw Golf Club (formally Polo Fields - Washtenaw).  Short game was spot on and posted a 6.9 differential.  No birdies, lots of pars, a few bogies and a disaster on the short par 3 #12 where I had a double par 6.

Played 9 holes today and started out pretty good (for me) w/ 5 bogies in a row, then doubled the last four. Still, not a bad round.

Shot 86 yesterday on my home course. A back 9 of 39 (+3) really helped, 2 birdies, 2 double bogies included in that back 9.

Got my handicap last week as a 23, so to shoot that I'm super impressed

I shot a 78 today, 38 front, 40 back.

I had 11 GIR and 3 nGIR

Putting was a mixed bag. I had a lot of closs ones that didn't go in. I also had some terrible lag putts. My pitching was better. My sand game cost me two strokes.

52-58-110. My back-nine was insanely frustrating. On top of a lot of stuff late, drove me insane. Had to take a drop because I landed near some bees and wasn't playing that way. I putted a bit better than I had been (35 total today), but I clipped a few trees and had some horrendous bounces (like on #4, where I hit short of the green, it bounced right 20 feet, down a hill back 10 more, and into the sand).

Just some really bad bounces, really unhappy I went from an OK-ish 52 to an awful 58 on the back.

16 points in a bogey blitz. I picked up on a hole but I'm thinking i shot around a 95 or would have .

Hit 13 GIR in today

Still shot an 82 :pound:

Unfortunately threw in a triple and two doubles in there. 12 pars. 82 is probably the highest possible score I could have shot with that. Oh well. I was hitting the ball really well. Got to practice my short game.

76 today

36 on the front

40 on the back

I started off hitting the ball better than I ever had. I didn't miss a fairway until somewhere on the back 9 and the only thing that kept me from going low was not being able to convert on key birdie opportunities. Had a real good look at shooting under par but I let my swing get a little quick on the final holes as I played the closing three at +4.

Despite a couple errant tee shots and a 4 -putt (yes, a 4-putt...), this was a pretty clean round for me. I feel good going into a 4 day break.

Played Saturday and again on Monday at the same course.  Shot an 83 (40/43) on Saturday and a 92 (44/48) on Monday, oddly enough, the swing didn't feel materially different from round-to-round, but was off just enough that I didn't give myself a lot of chances to score as well on Monday.

81 on Saturday - same course I shot 69 on last October (Pheasant Hills).  18th hole (par 5) last October was a 3, this round was a 7.  Golf is weird

79 on Monday - nice course (Siren National), only the 2nd time I've played it, the front 9 kind of took my lunch money - I couldn't hit a green for anything.  Cleaned it up pretty nice by the 2nd 9.  GIR is king - I agree

Crappy rainny weekend. No golf for me. Purchased a new set of Titleist Ap1 4-W and i´m really ansious to play with them. Just hit a bucket of 50 balls to try them out, pretty nice feel. After 15 years my old ping ISI will rest in peace.

43 in 20-25 mph wind and rain. Was actually the best I've hit the ball in weeks. If not for the wind could have been an exceptional day.

I decided against continuing at the turn and by the time I got home sunny and calm. CO has been unpredictable for spring golf. It was 80 and nice an hour before I got to the tee.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
