I have went back and forth with the subject of wearing a golf glove or not wearing one. I mean, I currently have one hanging from my bag, but there it stays. Currently, I have not used it, since I can't seem to see the benefit and purpose. However, I am eager to learn that I may be missing something critical to the swing that the glove provides... something that I maybe haven't considered. So.... do you use a glove or not and what influences that decision?

I use a glove on my left hand (righty) because I think it provides a little extra grip on the club for me.  Also, I forgot it one day at the range and after about 350 practice shots my hand was rather raw.

I use a glove on my left hand, in part to help me anchor the shaft across my palm at set-up.

I use the Bionic StableGrip glove, which has more padding and is thicker than other gloves. This, combined with softer Winn grips, gives me better grip pressure on the club.

Also, the thicker Bionics last about three times longer than standard gloves.

No glove.  I carry one in my bag stuffed in the bottom of a pocket (not even sure which pocket - I'd have to search for it if I ever want it) in case I need it because my hands get a little wet or something.  I seem to recall using it for part of a round about 5 years ago.

Always glove on my left, occasionally on both - cold day, or very sunny day (to avoid uneven sun tan on both hands :8)).

I gave up a couple of years ago.   On warmer days I bring a towel to keep my hands dry and will occasionally wash them off in the club cleaner on my cart to get any oil or sweat off.   Had not has an issue since.

I use a glove on both hands during the early season until I re-establish my callouses and then switch to one glove (left hand) after the first few weeks.

No glove.  I use full corded grips and don't find one is necessary.  During the stupid humid summers up here I just wipe my hands down on my towel and that's always sufficient.  I do have a pair of raingrip gloves for rainy days when even the corded grips aren't good enough.

I actually wear 2 gloves, and unless they get wet from any source, I never take them off until the end of the round.

My biggest reason for not taking them off is for sun damage protection for my hands, which is the same for wearing 2 gloves in the first place.

I wear one only on my left hand unless it is raining or very cold.  I live in a pretty humid climate and find the glove provides better grip.  Years ago, I was playing with full cord grips and gave up wearing a glove.  My hands were pretty tough back then.  I got hurt and could not play for about year and a half and when I started back, I felt like I needed a glove.  Just never got back to playinig without one.

I use a glove but I have this weird thing I started doing this year where I don't put it on until I get to the second hole. I have no idea why.

Always wore one until I forgot it at my house once, and just rolled with it. Worked out fine, and actually don't want to go back.

Unfortunately my iron grips are cords that kind of rip my hand, so I just bought some Pure wraps and am eager to see how those are.

I'll only wear a glove when it gets cold, think 50 or less or really hot.   I have leather grips that are so sticky you don't need a glove.  My grips are 5 years old and they are only getting better.   Wipe them down with a wet towel once in a while and they are sticky and ready to go!

I have no hard and fast rule.

Spring/Summer: I prefer no glove until sweat/slippage rears its ugly head. And then it might be one glove, then two gloves, depending on slippage. I might opt for leather grips one day, because a glove is not needed.

Winter: I prefer no glove, but when it dips to mid 50's and wind, I will wear two gloves depending on the breeze. I also wear a beanie.

    • Day 6: lighter session today after a long day. Just some mirror work and slow swings to try to get my feels down.

    • Day 91 (1  Aug 25) - Pre-tournament practice round today…had some great up and downs for par saves.  Rain came in this evening so it will be a totally different playing course tomorrow.
    • Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.  I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.  Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.
    • Played 9 holes, shot a 39.  Kind of got around. Everything between the trees, so in play. Short game was rusty. Got to get back on that. Greens were stupidly slow because they got a lot of rain yesterday and probably couldn't cut them down. Usually in the summer they are firm and pretty fast for how sloped they are. Got to work on face to path a bit.
