http://www.globalgolfpost.com/now/2016/02/23/pga-pro-goes-birdie-eagle-ace-in-consecutive-holes

When I first read the story it said that the guy got off to a hot start: a birdie 2, an eagle 2, and then a hole in one (1, obviously) for a five-under-par start through three holes.

Turns out those were holes 5, 6, and 7. But anyway, the question remains the same: what is your hottest start (of at least two holes)? Where did you achieve it?

My hottest start was to be -3 through two holes, both par fours, at Lawrence Park GC.

http://www.gamegolf.com/player/iacas/round/84708

I hit a driver and a good wedge on the first hole to about eight feet (@david_wedzik had put it to three feet), and made the putt. The second hole I hit it near the green and pitched in for an eagle. We joked that it was "45 watch" because that's what -3 through 2 would be if you could somehow keep it up. :-)

Even from the times I've played forward tees, because the second hole at Whispering Woods is a par three, I've never been three under through two holes.

I know I've started with 3 birdies before, in a club championship first (not championship) flight match.  Playing against my buddy Milt, he came back and made it close, I think I won 2 and 1.

If we are limiting it to the start of the round then sadly just -1 through 2 holes. I have had 3 birdies and 1 par in 4 holes but that came at the end of a round. I have been 3 under through 9 holes once but can't remember at what point I made those birdies.

Mine was at Furnace Creek GC in Death Valley. 121 degrees when we started.

Golf wise I shot a 72 after starting out with an eagle, and 2 birds. Doubled the 4th hole. This was quite a few years ago at some course near Disneyland.

Mine was -3, a birdie and an eagle on drivable par 4 second at Fossil Trace. Then my real game showed up. :-(

Huh...

I know I've started birdie, birdie several times, but really can't remember anything particular about the actual rounds.  I do know that none of them resulted in an overall unusually low round.

A course I play periodically starts with a relatively short par 5, a moderate par 4 and a decently long par 3 (212 yards).  I shot "3", "3", "3" to start.  The easiest "3" was the eagle on the first hole.  Ran my 2nd shot to about 18 inches.

I don't think I broke 80 that day as all the fireworks were on the first several holes. :facepalm

I've birdied the first hole a couple of times in my life.  I also started bogey, birdie, par, birdie once a couple of years ago, so I guess that -1 after 4 holes is probably my best.

What does it start with the rest of the time? :-P

Off the top of my head, I know I went eagle-par-par once to start a round at Highfields Golf Club once a few years ago when I shot a (IIRC) 68.

Birdie, Birdie.. 5 years ago at HCPed tourney in MB. Then a steady stream of bogies and doubles after. Finished in upper 90s if memory serves right. Some hot start...

I have no memorable hot starts but just last week I had my hotest somethings of three consecutive birdies.  It was a par 64 course so all three were par threes. I made a 20 footer, a 12 footer from just off the green, and a tap in.  It was leading to one of my better rounds but I had to quit on 15 because it got dark.

my hottest start was par, birdie, par, par. going into #5 at -1 was an amazing feeling but then i sullied the round from there lol. overall i shot my average (i think a 44 on that 9, 113 slope). i wish i could have played that round with my father-in-law and really freaked him out on my level of progress since last we played lol. but oh well :)

The first hole at my home course is a downhill, shorter par 5.  Probably the easiest hole on the course to birdie.  It is also the hole where I had my sole eagle.  The first 6 holes are not that difficult.  I believe I have been -1 through 6 before and certain that I have been even through 6 many times.  7, 8, and 9 are the hardest 3 hole stretch though.  I am typically happy if I come out of them with bogies.

I have twice gone par, bogey on my first two holes when they have started us on the back nine instead.  Doesn't sound great but for me it is a darned good start.  I think the first time I went par, bogey, par.  This last weekend on my home course was the par bogey one.  I was sent out by myself and played probably one of my best 9 holes on that specific course (Northdale-my home course).  I shot 56 on the back nine, and although that doesn't sound great, the last two times I had played I shot a 140 and a 126 because I have not been playing lately or practicing, been busy.  So I was pretty happy with the score, and most happy that I didn't have any double digit blow up holes.  In general when I messed up I took my medicine.  I parred the par 5 #16 which is a hard hole for the second time in a row and was happy about that as well.

-3 thru 2. Birdied the par 5 first on a total fluke putt, and then jarred an eagle from the rough from 149.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
