They drive the beverage cart around and serve you beverages. Or snacks.

Some courses try to employ "hot" ones the same way some restaurants try to have attractive servers.

Hillary will straighten that out.. Heavy girls need jobs also.. wait.. they may not make as much money as the attractive ones.. Maybe the club should pay them more?

Often see mention of cart girls. For those of us ufamiliar with the concept can someone please explain a bit more?

What is it that they do? Are they all hawt? Etc ...

Most are hawt.  I refer to them as beer wenches.  South Africa must be in the Stone Ages if you don't know what cart girls are.

Very very few courses have these beverage carts, and when they do it's mostly hobo types in overalls and only when it's real hot outside. We have the "halfway house" concept here - you play 9, then you have to stop and rest and eat and drink your drinks - that's how it works at all courses here. So I guess there is not much need for these carts.

I can just imagine though that they must be pretty thick skinned :-\

The carts are rarely air conditioned, so yes, in the summer, I'd imagine so.

Semi-attractive or attractive women working in these sorts of jobs have heard it all.  They emerge pretty thick skinned after holding the job for a while.  And the rest of us should remember that they've heard that stupid joke you're thinking of telling before, and if you don't know if she's wearing a hat or glasses after she gets you a drink or snack, be sure to leave a tip, especially if she's young enough to be your daughter.

I don't hold that against them.

I've got to know a few regulars over the years and they do have thick skins.

Just so we're clear, I mean tip them well, not "don't flirt with younger women."

We don't have cart girls, instead we have grill girls outside the club house who grill hot dogs and burgers so you an grab a quick bite before starting the back nine.

That is certainly 1000 words worth.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Here in North Texas, the majority of courses have cart girls.  Attractiveness is hit or miss, but a general rule is the higher the price, the better looking the cart girl.  It's to the point around here that one of the local golf periodicals has a cart girl of the month.

We have beverage cart girls on our course.  They have varied a little, last years models were:

One was just a thin, leggy, blondish knockout.  Pretty nice, knew how hot she was, I am sure she got her fair share of unwelcome overtures.

My favorite from last year was the other one though who was a little thicker, curves busting out the seams in the right places, wearing daisy duke style short and a top that accentuated what her momma gave her.  She was average to above average but with a killer, bubbly personality.  It was quite the test keeping my eyes where they were supposed to be when she came over and sidled up to me to show me pics on her Iphone of a local spring she went too that I did not know yet .  As we small talked a bit something tipped her into the hot category, she mentioned going to see her dad in prison because it was close to the spring, (kind of a shocker) and I asked what he was in for and the response was "this time?".  I don't know why that made her more attractive but it did.

We had an older lady running the cart a few times couple months ago and another girl who was extremely average but really nice and would bs with us.

Right now we have two that are good eye candy.  One likes to wear the tight form fitting yoga pants and it is hard not to look to see who made said lovely pants when she bends over to get your drink, she is smoking hot.

We never insult or disrespect the cart girls, just appreciate a little on the sly and make sure to tip them, I don't think they make a whole lot otherwise they would stay longer.

I cannot remember where it was, but it was well off my usual beaten path that I saw a cart boy. He had a sort of disappointed look on his face as he counted his tips.

I tip the same regardless of gender, age or hotness.

    • Day 292 - Filmed some swings focusing on the same thing (setup, grip, wrist at the top).

    • Thanks! It actually briefly dropped to 5.8 at some point in July, but it felt like it was too rich for my blood every moment of the whole two weeks I held the 'level' for me to sustain it. The term 'impostor syndrome' comes to mind.. :-)) I have certainly done better than I have in the previous years to stay the course in how and what I have practiced but yes, it's a high probability that I'm leaving a lot on the table.
    • Dang... in the realm of things that probably don't matter all that much, golf slumps are the worst. Yes definitely consult a pro ASAP. Get back to hitting it solid again. Hitting the sweet spot solves a lot of problems. For me it's always the latter. My confidence grows as I hit more and more solid shots, which are the result of continuing to improve my swing thru better concepts, better practice, etc.  Yea, this for sure. And also, without a professional there to let you know you "did it better this time" it can be unnecessarily frustrating and confounding working alone. It's not that you can't work alone; clearly, you can. But during rough patches, it's always smart to consult professionals. Lessons are an amazing place to take new concepts and turn them into feels that you are confident will work. It's still really cool you consider this your best ever season. Congrats on hitting 7.8 this year!
