I've recently fitted some GP Multi Compound grips to my MB 714 irons, I gripped them logo down and it got me thinking what other people use in this department.

I've been using the Iomic X-grip for a while, but may try the Pure DTX if the one on my driver works well in the wet weather I'm bound to see in Ireland.  I generally mount them with the logo up, although with adjustable hosels that can change with the adjustments.  Right now the logo on my driver points to the right, away from the target.

I know some people who hate them, but I live by WINN Dry-Tacs. Logo always up and centered.

They wear our a little quicker than some of the other grips I've played in the past, but I usually end up saving a lot of my gloves from being shredded by cords and they are by far the best bad-weather grips I've ever played with. Great for if you play in the rain a lot.

I don't think about it. Just like the tech put it on logo up or down

Always wondered why it matters to some people

Lamkins.........they are pretty plain so I put them on any old way, logo top , bottom or side. Other styles I would be particular on how they were placed

I won a set of Dri-Tacs and really love the way they feel. I installed them label up. I have a Pure grip on my driver with label down. The Pure grip was too rough to have facing up and bothered my hand. Although I that was before I changed my grip so I don't know that it matters anymore.

I am also enjoying the Winn Dri-Tacs. I like a softer feeling grip. In hot weather, need not worry about slippage, easy to clean - a wipe down with a moist towel (don't soak them, just a moist towel and dry or you ruin the grip). I don't place a lot of torque on a grip and if one needs shock absorption, comfort, and tack, it doesn't get much better.  No issues with durability yet, which was a common knock on Winns. I purchased the 20th anniversary grips and it gives the club a faux leather look.

My all-time favorite grips are leather grips - tacky and comfy in all weather and will last 3-4 years. It makes up for the high cost. I used GripMaster but bestgrips is another popular brand.

I've been using Pure DTX grips and like them a lot but recently bought a used set of clubs that had the Golf Pride Z grip on them and for some reason I really like them.  I don't know how they will be in hot or wet weather but yesterday on the range I felt like I had more control over the club.

PURE DTX Midsized, logo down. I don't think I'll ever go to a different brand. These things just don't wear out.

I use PURE Pros with the logo down, but my last set were PURE DTX that I installed with the logo up because it seemed like the grippy texture was directional.

I really don't like logos. I turn the tires on my truck around to the inside.so the white lettering doesn't show. I don't wear golf logo hats.

A professional golfer could probably beat all the local club guys with a set of $20 clubs from Goodwill.

GP NDMC logo up. When I regrip I use lots of solvent and move alignment lines to fit how my eye sets the face for my stock shot. With normal grip it helps me setup if I get out of whack.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
