Was talking with a friend on the range last night about the first time we'd ever made par on a hole, and both of us remembered like it was yesterday.  Thought it'd be fun to hear the stories from folks in here...back in the days when just hitting the ball in the air was a success and we weren't worried about cupped wrists and impact positions.

I was 11 or 12 years old, playing a course in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec with my old man, his business partner, and his wife...having gone up with the family for a work conference they were attending..  Playing cross-handed with righty clubs, I wormed burned two shots straight down the fairway of a par 3 and wound up on the green in 2 with, what I'd guess was, a 20-30 foot putt.  The part I remember most vividly was my Dad's friend placing the pin on a spot on the green and saying "Just putt it right here."  Did just that, the ball rolled right under the stick as he lifted it up, broke right into the hole for a par as everyone jumped up to celebrate!  Walking off the green, my Dad put his arm around me and joked, "Hope you kept your allowance, because this means you have to buy the beers."

Great question! I remember mine clearly because I only started playing in July of 2015 :-)

It was 165 yard Par 3. I topped a 4H about 135 yards, next I dribbled a horrible chip (?) shot forward about 15 yards... Still off the green at this point, I pulled an old Titleist DCI black 48* wedge... and the next chip was PERFECT. A quick spirited jump up onto the green, a soft landing, and a beeline straight to the hole. I remember all of it in slow motion, what a happy moment!

Nope. It was too many years ago. I'm not even sure I remember my first birdie. I do remember my first time... well nevermind.

I just barely remember my LAST par, and that was on Sunday.  I remember my first "long drive", 253 yards (I paced it off, no GPS available) on the 3rd hole at Cedar Crest (now a housing development) near Centreville, VA.  I would have been about 16 or 17, so sometime in 1972 or 73.

I also remember my first round in the 70's, at Cheviot Hills (now a housing development) just north of Raleigh, NC in 1979.  I played there a bit while in grad school.  When I got done that day, the pro asked me how I'd played, and I told him it was my first in the 70's, and he told me to look in the Raleigh newspaper the next day.  He called, and there was a single line in the local sports telling about my first 70-something.

I can't remember my first par.

I remember the first birdie. It was No. 10 at Rollandia Golf Center (short par-3 south of Dayton OH). Hit a PW that missed the green left and chipped in from about 10 feet. That was inside my first month and really spurred me to keep going.

It's strange...I can't recall either my first birdie or first eagle.  Not sure if I can edit the title on this thread, but first bird/eagle moments that are seared into your brain are more than welcome.

Nice story!

Also can't remember my first par, but my first birdie I do - it was only last year. On the longest hole on a par 3 course near me (only about 150 yards. Hit my tee shot nice and straight if slightly short, to just short of the green then chipped in from about 15 feet (at a guess).

I do remember my first time... well nevermind.

I remember mine too, don't expect she does though! Like my first Birdie, I've had better / more impressive ones since.

Sadly, no, I do not.  I also don't remember my first birdie.  I remember my first hole-in-one ... also because it's my only one. ;)  And I "sort of" remember my first eagle.  I have only made about 8-9 in my life and I can pretty much recall them all, but I don't quite remember which was the first.

Definitely no idea when or where was my first par or birdie though.

I only started in August 2015, yet I can not remember it. However, I can remember my first Birdie. 6th hole on my local course, when I was playing solo. I have had many since, but will always remember that one

I'm lucky if I can remember my last eagle, I can remember my last birdie, as i chipped in on 17 for birdie yesterday, but not a chance I remember my first eagle, my first birdie or my first par.  I can remember my first hole in one, as I've only had one.

I remember my first par , birdy,  eagle, and ace.  For some reason I even remember my first snowman too.

I remember the best round I ever played, which ironically was not my lowest score.

Heck, I even remember stuff that happened on a golf course that was not related to my game.

All long ago stuff. These days I suffer from "CRS". However,  I was lucky this week, to remember  our  anniversary. Fortunately she didn't ask how long.

My first par I do remember as it was my third time out and the previous two rounds were 111 and 108.  It was the 11 hole, 131 to pin and the sign on the T box says 160.  I grabbed my 8 iron and left it 12' from the hole.  Putt it to 4" and then tap in for par.  That was awesome and I was already asking if we were gonna play next week.

I do remember my first birdy too.

2rd shot to the green on the 10th hole and I left it 10" away.  Tap in birdy.  I took a pic as it was the closest I ever put any shot to the pin.

Nah, I can't remember my first par (or birdie for that matter) even though I probably did cartwheels on the green when I made them.  I started playing at 11-12yo, and played a lot at my local club.  That was 28-29 years ago - I can barely remember what I ate for lunch an hour ago.  Most likely got both on the little par 3 2nd at the course I grew up on.  97 yds and a big green with no trouble around it.

I do remember my first eagle.  Same course, 4th hole - short par 4 (285ish) down across a gully with a sharp dogleg to the right at the end.  I drove it over the gully/creek to about 40 yds., then pitched in.  Felt like I'd won the open.  :-D

I remember it quite clearly as it was during my very first outing (shot a 142 at the age of 12, after a week of practice XD).

Hit an old persimmon 5 wood (I was playing a assortment of old clubs) on a par 3 (do not recall the distance) and it was probably the only good feeling shot I had all day and put it within 15 feet just on the fringe.  From there it was a pretty ho hum 2 putt for par.  So that means it took me 139 strokes on the other 17 holes...

No. I remember my first birdie, though... Town of Colonie Golf Course. They only had 18 holes open back then. Match play. Playoff hole. We went back to the 1st hole. We were playing doubles. I hit a persimmon driver with a low draw that rolled from the forward tees and I think a 4 or 5 iron. I got a GIR but left a 35 foot putt. Sank it. Opponent missed the 10 footer.
