Seeing some reports that the USGA is mowing some of the fescue - seems like some of the complaints have been heard.

McIlroy saying fairways are widest it's ever been. Something like - If 156 of the best players in the world are having problems, what are we doing here?

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

So that's what flash mob landscaping looks like. :-D This is what it looks like when the lawns of all the houses on your street get speed mowed.

I'm wondering if this has been the intent all along (let it grow and thicken, and then cut to the intent of the tournament a couple days prior.)

Instead of rules officials walking with groups, this article says the USGA will have 2 rules officials stationed on all non-par 3 holes, and located in the strategic positions to help with rulings, should they arise.

I just read a facebook post from pga.org that the usga cut the fecscue due to the heavy rains making it unplayable.  I don't know, it kind of seemed unplayable from the beginning, but that's all a part of the fun I suppose.

My favorite part about these major championship PCs is the traditional question to every golfer about Hideki Matsuyama from the Japanese press.

They probably have some of their social media staff scanning your Twitters, FBs, Instagrams to hopefully get in front of any potential problems/control the message to a certain degree.

Kind of doubt that. Baling is done on site. And there's been no time to rake it, let it dry, and then bale it. If you bale wet hay it will start to ferment inside the bale, heat up, dry out, and maybe catch fire. Been quite a few barn fires started that way!

Good point. I was going to say you need a weed eater or something that the blades won't seize up to cut that stuff.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
