In college I had a friend that was left handed that gave me his old set of LH Hogan forged blades.  Can't even remember which model.  I had just taken up golf, and had not even cracked 130 yet.

I knew the forged blades where probably the most difficult clubs to hit and stupidly sold them to another lefty so I could buy a set of cavity back irons.  I wish I had just put them in the closet to use some day.

I had a set of Toski VEC irons: dark brown with a circular pattern in the center of the face.  VEC stood for Vertical Extruded/Expanded Cavity...something like that.  I loaned them out and they were subsequently stolen.  They have/had Avon reminder grips and graphite shafts...the first set I ever played with either.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Yep. I had mine made when I worked for Acushnet. I had them fitted with Rifle Shafts.

Not that I wish I had them back necessarily but the first real set of irons I had and got fitted for were titleist 962.  A lot of fond memories of rounds with those

My MP62s. They were too much club for me at the time I got them and I figured I would learn to play the game by using them. When I finally switched to more forgiving irons, they ended up sitting in the garage for so long that I figured I'd be better off selling them to buy some other piece of equipment that I could use.

I loved the way they felt on a pure strike. Chasing that feeling is probably what got me hooked on the swing. I bought a set of Hogan blades a few years ago that just don't have that same soft feel. I think I'd play them today if I still had them.

Not too into collecting or saving "stuff" so all my old sets were given to others.  None were really classic collector level sets, anyway. It might be fun to see the first set we had back in 1962 - H&B.

My Mizuno MP 57. I hit them pretty good and loved the feel of a pured shot. I really liked how they looked too. But I hit my AP2 and AP1 farther.

My Mizuno MP 33's, damn were they a beautiful set of clubs, but love the forgiveness and distance with the AP2's.  I still have my MP 14's in the storage unit.

I like how a lot of people on this post are saying they wish they had their Mizuno irons still.  I picked up a set of the JPX-850 forged irons at the beginning of the year and the feel, distance and everything about them is AMAZING.  The irons I wish I would have kept would be my TW Nike blades.  I loved those irons, but got rid of them because the grooves weren't conforming.  Those things produced so much spin, it was nothing to spin them back 10-20 feet or more.  I sold them to a buddy of mine about 4-5 years ago for $350 and he has since moved on to a new set so he asked me if I wanted them back.  He agreed to sell them back to me for $100 which is awesome.  I think I am going to take them out to the course just to see how they perform.

not that I ever owned them..   But I wish I had just one Hogan or Mizuno forged blade iron.   preferably a 5 or 6 iron.  just so I can take it to the range.  I figure that if I could learn to consistently pure one of those, then switching back to my MP-25s would feel like I was center-facing every shot.

I guess I'm not sentimental about the golf clubs I've owned and I never owned an iconic set.  I'm more sentimental about the places and people I played with the clubs in hand.  My first set of club were Wilson blades and they were great to learn the game with.  Then I had Tommy Armour 845's which became so ubiquitous I just looked them up and you can still buy a set on Global Golf for $50.  I bought them with student loan money while I was in medical school in 1991 or 92 and I'm probably still paying them off... I don't want to even think about how much I actually paid for those clubs.

Wilson Fat Shaft, went from a 18 to a 12 with them. Forgot why I gave them up. Maybe stuck at 12 and blamed the irons.
