Yikes.  I imagine it's too late for his sponsor to get workable replacements to him.

I wonder how often an airline loses a tour player's clubs.  I figured with recurring customers who (probably) fly first class and drop a lot of money on the product they'd be more careful.

Can you imagine the reaction from sponsors if someone won an important trophy with a putter they got in the $39 used bin? ;-)

I have no idea where it went, either.

I'd look through the backups to get it back, too, but… whatever. It was only about 20 posts long.

G-Mac really trying to throw the bad publicity at AirFrance.  Can't say I blame him given his circumstance.

Don't pros often have a back-up set?  I don't know, really--just asking.  I guess even if he did, it might be in Florida and wouldn't get to the UK in time tomorrow.

It seems so bizarre to even "threaten" to WD. Air France doesn't give a shit if he can't play a golf tournament.

Seriously.

And he's claiming that their entire Twitter account has gone silent because he lost his clubs? I don't know about that.

Exactly. And if you don’t qualify, then you’ve got two tournaments as a lifeline that can get you in. There’s no risk to using a backup set. Only reward. So I don’t get it.

Yup can’t say I understand his logic on the withdrawal here. Maybe something else already going on and he found his scapegoat? Just speculation...

My question is why is he flying commercial? Don't they have "Wheels Up" or any number of private carriers where he is located? Where you can load your clubs yourself or see them being loaded? Major screw up!

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
