Are you sure we're talking about the same course?

Course is 7547 yards, which is hardly short by PGA Tour standards.

The newspaper and the PGA Championship Program list the yardage as 7,316 yards, Par 70. The 7547 would be from the tips, Par 72.

Nos. 1, 2 and 3 are short of the tips, as is No. 11. And, the tournament has options on No. 17, a 597-yd. par 5: The tees could be be moved up on Sunday to encourage more people to go for the green in two.

Also... 10 of 14 long holes are dogleg left, an extra consideration for the power-fade people.

I hope this doesn’t become a tournament played on a giant sponge. Articles I’m reading make it sound like it’s gonna be a mud ball festival. I like watching these guys play in inclement weather but swampy mud isn’t a condition I care for at all.

Hope not, either. If it does become "dart golf", you may see your first ever 61 in a major. Someone will go really low, I believe, if these fairways and greens don't get some speed to them.

Will they implement "lift and clean" if the ground remains soggy?  I believe PGA Championship was the only major that have used "lift and clean" or lift and cheat rule in the past.

Rory has a great track record in majors when it is wet and soggy.  Hope he does well.  As for Tiger, I am losing hope that he will win any tournament this year.  Maybe he will come back stronger next season.

😇 Of course not.

I am looking forward to seeing the last major though.  I hope it's as good of a finish as the Open.  That was exciting having it come down to the end.

Not sure it was this wet. Not a good sign for those who want a tough PGA when Patrick Reed says that you will be losing a few strokes to the field if you play a 9-hole stretch in Even Par. A sign this could be a birdie-fest. Good news for guys like DJ, Koepka and Rory who like to go low.

Yes.  Hence my comment about Rory.

Is it just me or is the television coverage a bit lacking for this major? Mainly Thursday and Friday.

Looks okay to me:

https://www.pga.com/events/pgachampionship/2018-pga-championship-tv-schedule-channels-live-stream-information

Six hours of TV coverage Thursday and Friday, plus many hours streaming. (DirecTV gets access to those streams too I believe.) Eight hours on the weekend.

And, shot tracer on every hole. PGA usually my least favorite major but maybe we'll get some interesting stuff this year. And of course I hope Tiger puts together something good.
