Now that Tiger has shot himself out of contention,  :-D  let’s talk about the interesting story...

...how about Corey Conners?!

Wouldn't that be amazing?  We have had a new winner since 2015, why not again this year

I'm done. He's a terrible putter.

He had a good run. Maybe next year.

And he got here by winning last week as a Monday qualifier!

Not sure what you mean by a new winner?

The last 4 Masters winner all won it as their first major; for 2016 winner Willet it is his first (and only PGA Tour win)

Strange leaderboard thus far. Seems like all the big boys are hovering in the middle of the pack.

Rough going for 3 former champions, two of which usually do well here despite their age: Cabrera, Couples, Woosie.

If he misses this one I'm done.

Edit: Thank goodness

He should legit be tied for the lead...

However, I'm loving this nice driver draw he's pulled out a few times

The 11th and 12th haven't been kind to Tiger in the past. I think last year he put the ball in the drink on 12 the first two rounds. If he can get through that at -1, birdie avenues open up on the par-5s. Plus 16 is gettable today with the pin location.

Damn, how many had William Harding or Patton Kizzire in their pre-Masters picks. Like I said before, strange leaderboard.

Wow. Stenson completely blowing up on 13. From where he had to take his drop, I almost think he would have been better off replaying from the spot of his 2nd shot.

Doh!

“So Henrik, How did you make 8 on 13?”

 “I made a breaking 3 foot putt.”

Nice to see Sergio not put up a 13 on the 15th hole in the opening round this year.  😂

    • I don’t know why my swing got so vertical there. That wasn’t normal.    What did you mean by point 3? I get the hip turn portion.
    • It is. So, just 2 and 3 above now. 😄
    • Hopefully this one is better
    • Patrick Cantlay's strokes gained from 2024: I wonder if he takes more time on approach shots given that was the worst part of his game last season. And then here are his 2023 stats: Much better ball striking season. I wonder if there are any differences in his times between these two seasons. I tend to think he's just slow in general, but it'd be interesting to see his time differences.
    • Not sure, I think players have their own pace. Speith was always slow, regardless if he was in contention or not. Well, more so when he was in contention. It might be a push there on that question.
