I played Saturday and switched between the V1 and X, couldn't really tell the difference with spin, but could definitely see the difference in ball flight, the X had a lot higher launch to it.

 I have moved from ball to ball a lot the last few years. I got into the yellow ball by Srixon that was easy to find in heather as I was in Scotland a bit. I then tried the matte ball by Volvik but it was too sticky in the air and lost distance. Have done the Bridgestone measure and was fit for the tour ball for slower swing speed. the 330rs. So I got 6 dozen of those off eBay for about $25 each so I still have a few dozen of those. They have good action for a slower swinger who likes tour type ball.

I'm at the stage where I'm off to the side as much as I'm up the middle so I'm using a lot of OP's (Other Peoples) which have included a lot of Pro V1's, TM's and Callaways but they have disappeared just as quickly as they appeared so I don't rate them much.

Bought a second hand set of Srixon irons so bought some Srixon Distance balls and found them to have a nice feel but alas they are slowly being replaced with OP's too.

A friend of mine, who plays a lot more regularly than I, just gave me a couple of Bridgestone Tour B RX's and told me to try them as they are by far the best ball he has used. looking forward to giving them a try and see what they get replaced with. Hahahaha!!

When I didn’t absolutely suck at this game I played ProV’s almost exclusively. Then I lost two in three holes last Monday and switched to an old sleeve of Wilson’s I had in the bag. I’ll go back to the Pro-V’s when I can hit them properly.

Snell MTB Red / Yellow.  Good distance and short game spin.  Looking for a replacement since MTB Red is discontinued.  Testing yellow balls.

Srixon Q-Star Tour; about $29/dozen.  The Tour version I use has a urethane cover.  (Regular Q-star is an ionomer cover.)   I like how this ball plays in the wind; it feels real good putting as well.  Earlier ball preferred was Titleist NXT Tour S; still play them if I can buy them.

I've become a Vice loyalist.  I used to play the Tour, but stepped up to the Pro because I like to have a little more spin on my approach shots.

Snell Get Sum, often of the white variety, but I keep one yellow in my bag since two holes on my home course are adjacent to the driving range, and certain misses make it hard to find one's ball among range balls that escape the range nets.  I usually remember I meant to switch balls around the time my tee shot reaches its apex.

A year or so ago I bought six dozen for $85, shipped.  While I haven't played a ton since then, the balls are still nice after 36 holes, but I'll generally retire a ball after that long.  I am about to open my seventh fresh sleeve from the box purchased (I used six sleeves before purchasing this six dozen box), not including the one sleeve of yellow I took one ball from for that purpose.  I take a new one out for tournament play, and with the cost per ball, even someone as frugal as I am doesn't feel the pinch doing so.  

So why?  Previously I was using the Bridgestone e6 (and briefly the 330 RX), which is a great ball.  I cannot distinguish the e6 and the Snell on the golf course at any point.  I'm sure there are differences somewhere, but the only way I can tell the difference is in my wallet.  Many of my "range" balls in my home practice area (home, not home course) are e6s from circa ten years ago.

titlesit pro v1x during competition, my best scores have simply come with this ball. bridgestone and taylormade balls for practice because i get good distance with a price discount/ expect to lose some balls and run out of time to look for them.

Pro v1 for me.

Even as a modest player (averaged around +20 for a while) as soon as I used this ball I dropped a couple of shots the next round, and it wasn't coincidence. After buying new clubs and going to pro v1's I dropped 6 shots in about 3 rounds and can highly recommend anyone thinking of trying them to just go for it and see for yourselves.

Moved to  e12 recently from e6.  These balls do well with my slower swing speed.  The move happened when I ran out of the e6, so I thought good time to see how the newer ball will do.  Only happened about a week ago, so, full jury is still out.  However, improvement in distance and accuracy in my round last time out.  So far so, good for me.

Noodles, they are cheap and good for my level of play. I've tried just about every brand of ball out there, can't tell the difference.

That must be you leaving them all over the courses out here. In the last few weeks I have lost several balls but I always seem to find a Noodle while looking for mine!

NXT’s and also OP pro V’s. Find lots of prov’s along the course margins

Callaway SuperSoft yellow or ProV1x. These are best for my slow swing speed, are soft enough, give me good distance and feel good to hit. Love the Titleist spin of a full wedge. Best, Marv

ProV1x in yellow is an awesome ball.  

That said, a soft ball is a slow ball.  If you have a slow swing speed, you especially need a firmer ball for ball speed.  See mygolfspy's ball test.

ProV1x and Snell MTBx appear to be some of the best balls overall.

Yes, I read it the test narrative after I had been playing the balls I mentioned. It said ProVIx was best for slow swings. And being a bit firmer, much better than the Chrome Soft (or I would presume, Supersoft) for my slow swing speed. Thanks for pointing this out. Best, -Marv
