OMG why are some of these guys (on both sides) wearing those disgusting saddle style shoes?

You're a young player and you've watched Tiger your whole life.  He's your idol.  Now you're playing and he's there watching you.  Could that make you more nervous than you would be otherwise?  And could that actually make you play worse?

They all think they're a young Jack Nicklaus?

So did Tiger and Ernie get a great deal on gray sweaters and go halfsies on a double order?

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I always root for the underdog.  Then when the underdog takes the lead I root for the new underdog.

Right now as I write this (Saturday morning 4-ball) they're on holes 13, 14, 15 and 16 and we're behind in 3 of the 4 matches.  Oh boy!  This could really turn out to be some humiliation.  Yesterday, we did make a great comeback.  Let's hope our guys can do the same today.  This is pretty pathetic so far.

So, we could only get 1-1/2 points this morning (out of the 4 points available) and we're now down 9 to 5.  Can we win all the 4 points this afternoon (their time) to tie it up?  I can't tell a lie:  I think we'll be lucky to get 2 points.  What happened to the strong team we were supposed to have?

I can just hear Reed in the team room, "Come on, Webb! You're killing me!"

Well he does have a way of alienated people.  I imagine in a couple of years the only caddy he will be able to retain is the one Kucher used in Mexico a year ago.

Good to see the international team playing well....when these things get too one-sided or predictable, they just aren’t interesting and lose relevance. An international win would be a good thing for this event.

I do admit that courses like these make the game very entertaining to watch.

Plenty to like about Royal Melbourne, but especially fond of the firm and fast conditions. Makes for creative shotmaking!

    • Day 64 (13 May 26) - last practice of golf team for the school golf team….got to hit a few balls while working with the kids.
    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
