Regarding the new DC team name:   First thing, they need to get the word Washington out of their name, or at least pair it with DC.  The real Washington is out west.

How about the DC Currents?  That way it would apply to anyone who was playing for them at the time.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

I would change the name to the Washington Swamp Rats.

Too late. I already got that one trademarked.

My wife suggested "The DC Comics".

She said the cheerleaders could dress as Wonder Woman you could have your choice of Batman, Superman, or other logos on the helmets. Or maybe home unis are Batman colors, away unis are Superman etc...

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

And at halftime there could be an open mic for the offense to tell jokes...

My second option was the Washington Losers. That’s what they’re good at.

Way to really make me miss the late L.A. Avengers football team.  There's someone who could have done a great job with tie-in marketing if they had survived to 2014 or so.

Hey now, I think the "real Washington" is the one that came 60 years earlier, where George Washington lived and worked, and that sits just up the river from Mt. Vernon!  😉😋

That's funny.  There's a Mt. Vernon 20 miles from where I live.  You must be an East Coaster.  Have you seen that map of the U.S. from an East Coaster's perspective?

There isn’t even a mountain at Washington’s Mt Vernon. It’s next to the Potomac. Must be a Virginia thing.

Please share.   Being from the upper mid-west, my perception of the east is that the country is non-existent west of the Mississippi River

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
