Funny thing is, it's not really that windy. Doesn't sound like it's gonna be all week-end (at least down the road in Tampa).

My bag:

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
Odyssey two ball putter (white)

Young and long is not always that much better.  Last week it was only one stroke better than old and short.

😷

Somewhat related, a few years ago I suggested to my regular group that we do a Winter bucket-list trip to TPC Sawgrass, so they had me check it out.

Golf was $450, plus caddy, plus "Level of Service".

We didn't go.

I was thinking about this randomly this morning; I assume that if all else is equal that most pros would prefer the early Thursday/Late Friday block of tee times?  That would mean that if they played well and were in contention that they'd never have to worry about a quick turnaround that week.

Lee Westwood hits the ball further than me (292 average last week) and is my age exactly. 😂

This course was never super high on my bucket list, partially because of the location (there are so many I need to play first that are closer) and the fact that with all that water I know it's going to be a rough day ... but seeing it these last few days I think I'm changing my tune.  It looks incredible and now I wanna go torture myself!

Remember to load your bag up with range balls for the 17th.

Just 17th??  Shoot, in looking at Google Maps I can only find 2 holes (8 and 10) that look like maybe water does NOT come into play lol. I might be lucky to stay in double digits.

You are allowed 14 clubs.  And 50 balls.

Speaking of 17: prediction for today is way fewer balls in the water but a few more 3 putt bogeys.  They're all gonna end up on the front tier because they're afraid of bouncing over.

Bryson is dialed in.  I felt sorry for Na on 17. I like Spieth’s running commentary.

I’m just going to skull my first into the water on 17 and pick up for a six.

I guess we thought that was too much just to play on hole.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
